cloud Posted Tuesday at 04:18 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:18 AM I'm editing this post. I was able to fix the issue i was having with the ping optimizer. i was just optimizing my ping at a bad time when there was a lot of traffic. When i was able to optimize my ping i lost connection ti the router everytime but it optimized the ping successfully around 32 up and 32 down But now i have a question about the ping i get in game. With the r2 i usually always connected to cod with a 33 to 44 ping and with the r3 i am connecting to games with a 70 ping sometimes 54 . I have the steady ping set to 39 and the ping assist set to 45. The game does feel pretty smooth though. I know that the steady ping does make your normal ping jump up around 10. Is a 70 ping normal if i usually connected to cod with a 33 ping ?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Tuesday at 02:09 PM Administrators Posted Tuesday at 02:09 PM Devices will lose internet while the test is running, that is to be expected. Set Steady Ping to simple not expert and disable Ping Assist. Then restart the game and see if it works any better. Rodolfo Lima 1
cloud Posted Tuesday at 08:52 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 08:52 PM I set the steady ping to simple and i didn't know how to disable ping assist si i lowered it from 50 to 48 . The game feels smooth. It starts looking for a game around 54 ping when it used to start at high 30s or low 40s. And once im in the game it puts me at a 44 ping instead of 33 and the ping jumps from 44 to 38 and back the whole game even though the game feels smooth so its not much of a problem but i would like to try to get it steady like how it was with the r2 . Maybe if i mess around with the geo filter map like if i make the custom circles around the servers different or smaller i know that helped with the r2

The game will allow any servers up to that ping, it won't necessarily prioritize the lower pings so disable that so you just use the radius to search for your closest and therefore lowest ping servers.

Defina o Ping Estável como Simples, não Avançado, e desative o Assistente de Ping. Em seguida, reinicie o jogo e veja se funciona melhor. Porque devemos desativar o Assistente de Ping?

They're getting higher pings - Ping Assist will allow any servers below and in some cases slightly above that value. If you know you can get servers at a lower ping then it is better to force them specifically Rodolfo Lima 1
cloud Posted Thursday at 10:46 PM Author Posted Thursday at 10:46 PM No matter what i do the ping seems to jump a lot in game it's not steady i only noticed on one game where it stayed in the same ping. When i was optimizing my ping at first i had problems because the router kept telling me my old ping was - and my new ping is - i tried it later on and the ping did go from - to 32. Im going to try to optimize my ping again to see if that helps. The game does feel better with steady ping on expert and when i switched it to simple inly on the first game did the ping stay on 40 after a couple minutes but in the second game it kept jumping from 40 to 70 and back

It sounds like you have some instability overall: What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Are ALL devices connected to the R3? What are the speeds you pay for/receive? Have you entered those speeds into the router? How have you setup Congestion Control? How have you setup SmartBOOST? What game are you playing? What platform are you playing on and how is it connected, via ethernet or WiFi? How have you setup the Geo-Filter?
cloud Posted Thursday at 11:19 PM Author Posted Thursday at 11:19 PM The modem is the one they gave me . I don't have access to it. I only have my Xbox console and cellphone and my tv connected to the r3. I have speed of 60mps up and 60mps down. i have congestion control at 100 for my internet 60 up 60 down. I have congestion control set to always on. I did set up smart boost to call of duty series. That's the game i play. Im usually around 30 ping. I optimized my ping right now and it set it to 10.2. i switched steady ping to expert and set it to 35 ping since i usually play around 34 . Right now the ping is jumping from 48 to 62 and back. I might have to optimize my ping maybe later when the internet has less traffic and see if maybe that helps. I just switched from the r2 to the r3 and i never had this problem. I usually always connected to cod with a 34 ping 44 at the most and it was always stable. I do think it might be the ping optimizer because sometimes it tells me my ping is - even after testing and having set it to 32 . Right now it keeps saying its on 10 i have never tested it and gotten that number before. But then after finishing it sets it to -

Do you have any devices connected to the ISP modem/router? With Congestion Control set to 100% it's essentially disabled - you'll need to lower this to combat local congestion. How do you mean you've optimized your ping and set it to 10.2? What have you set to 10.2?
cloud Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago When i optimize my ping it sets to around 10.2 upload and 10.2 download. I will lower congestion control. I factory reset it and set it back up and it seems to be working fine right now. The ping seams to be more stable. My ping is a little higher than normal I'm usually connected around 34 ping and right now I've been connecting to cod with 40 to 55 ping but the game feels smooth so it's fine . The ping is probably a little higher since i have steady ping on expert. Thanks for the help Mr. fraser

Steady Ping on expert will make you have a higher ping but good to hear it's performing better.
