Henry
Hi, I'm going to be honest I'm not very knowledgeable on networking. For context: My bandwidth is 18mb/s download and 1mb/s upload. Before buying this router I had shocking ping which would spike every time anyone using the internet did anything especially upload. When I first bought this router I applied congestion control at 61% download and 50% upload I also used traffic prioritization. I had no issues over the last year with ping spiking. However, around three days ago I have begun to have ping spikes again especially when anything is uploaded on other devices, I suspect the congestion control is malfunctioning or something as it worked perfectly and suddenly stopped working. Bear in mind I have not changed any settings or anything. I would like to know if there is something wrong with the latest software update or something, or if there is something I can do to resolve this. EDIT: after some more testing it is very clear that congestion control for upload is not working. As the bandwidth is not being limited at all for upload, it appears to be upload only. I am also on version 1.0.0.74 Thank you, Henry
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Thursday at 02:05 PM Administrators Share Posted Thursday at 02:05 PM Are you using PPPoE/VLAN/IPv6? If so that is likely the cause. Have your ISP modem/router handle PPPoE/VLAN instead and then it should work again correctly.
