Ps5 / r3 game help

Hey, I've a bit of an issue that I can't find a solution for elsewhere. My kid can't play Roblox on the ps5 when connected via the r3, however it works fine using a mobile hotspot. I've tried placing the console into dmz, reinstalling the game, updating everything etc. Any suggestions on what else I can try? Roblox just crashes on launch, can't get beyond the main screen most of the time.

Do you have the Geo-Filter enabled for the PS5? If so disable it, reboot the console and then see if it works please

Hi, thanks for the reply. I didn’t have it set up for his ps5, but I did for mine. I disabled mine just to check, but it still won’t load.

Disable BI in Settings > Troubleshooting > Advanced > Developer Options then check again, if not, disable SmartBOOST fully from its menu

Thanks, tried both and no success unfortunately. Any other ideas.?

That would be the main thing affecting it so I'm not sure there is anything on the frontend you could change to get it working. When you say crash, is it at the point where it tries to connect to the internet? You said it works via a hotspot but does it work when directly connected to your existing ISP modem/router?

Yeah it works fine when on a mobile phone hotspot, thats the only reason i'm assuming its network related, otherwise id think it was a game issue. It has either a white circle (example attached) or a game crash message (example attached). Its just roblox too, so i really dont understand why.

It doesn't make sense how the network would physically make the game crash, it just wouldn't connect. Does it work when directly connected to your existing ISP modem/router?

Hi, yeah it works with another router. So I think I've found the problem and a solution, but I have no idea why it works / causes an issue.  

I had a number of ports reserved for my own ps5 and call of duty. Different device, static IP etc. When I've turned all of these off, Roblox now works on his ps5. Having his device in dmz didn't work for some reason, not sure why. Any ideas? Ideally I'd like to leave the ports open for my own gaming experience..

You can't have the DMZ set and then port forwarding done as they're conflicting instructions. As long as UPnP is enabled both consoles should get the ports open that they need without causing issues for each other. Each console can still have a static IP.

Hi, just to report I found the issue. I had the ad blocker running on his ps5, when I disabled it all is good.
