Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 5 Administrators Share Posted June 5 Disable the Geo-Filter, do you get a game then? By recent update do you mean a game update or a router update you've done?
gearsniper550
yeah im getting games with the filter on now, i was talking about the newest call of duty update last week. For some reason when i search for a game the filter looks like this is it supposed to start and stop like this. 2025-06-06 19-18-13.mkv
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 7 Administrators Share Posted June 7 Do this: Quit the application/game/client completely Remove device from the Geo-Filter (all the ones you've added) Give PC PlayStation Device Type in the Device Manager Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter Set up the Geo-Filter how you like Wait 2 minutes Boot up application/game/client It will then work better, you also won't need to add it for multiple games, it will just apply to them all. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 10 Administrators Share Posted June 10 Switch to the radius way of filtering instead of custom, restart the console then try again

cedric108
Same experience here. Something must’ve changed on Activision’s end. Do you also play outside your region with high ping? I use geo-filter to connect to US servers from Europe so I can play with a friend in Japan. It used to work fine, but ever since the update OP mentioned, I can’t find games anymore, unless I only include servers with latency under 100ms (New York server). I also tried the Saudi server (~90ms), and I’m able to find games there. If I stick to West Coast or Central US like I used to (130ms–180ms range), I can’t find any matches at all. Can the Hybrid VPN feature solve this issue? (Still not available on R3?) I am not very familiar with that. Would it be possible to just route my location data through Hybrid VPN, but perverse my raw connection for gameplay?

Not too long ago they mentioned about VPNs and how they were taking steps to prevent people using them - I can't recall if they specified how they would do this but a simple solution would be to implement a ping limit. That sounds like what is happening here, in which case HybridVPN wouldn't help as it would only increase your ping further (HybridVPN is on the R3), that may be possible but that's exactly what they're trying to prevent - people getting around SBMM. It's not something we could help with specifically.

It just wasn’t as strict back then as it seems to be now. Hopefully, they’re still testing different values and this isn’t the final setup. In the meantime, I can still play with my friend in Japan by connecting through the New York server. I also noticed that using a wired connection helps lower the ping a bit, sometimes enough also to get the DC server under the threshold too. I’m keeping an eye on the situation to see how it develops. And by the way, thanks for developing the geo-filter! Without it, I wouldn’t even be able to play with my friend, and we both get a solid experience because of it. Netduma Fraser
