Gameplay and Ping Issues with EA FC 25

Hello,

I’m based in Saudi Arabia and recently started using the NetDuma R3 router. I mainly play EA FC 25, and I’m facing serious issues with Steady Ping:

  • When Steady Ping is enabled, gameplay feels unnaturally fast and inconsistent.

  • When Steady Ping is disabled, the game feels too slow and sluggish.

  • Also, I constantly get the error “Can’t ping the server”, even when trying to connect to the nearest server (Doha).

I need your help to understand:

  • Why Steady Ping is behaving this way.

  • How to properly configure the R3 with my fiber router for optimal gaming.

  • What to do about the server ping error that happens every time.

Looking forward to a fix or some guidance.

Game servers don't always respond to pings, so that's why it won't always be able to ping the server - there is nothing you can do about it.

Steady Ping adds a delay to your game ping so you have a consistent ping, for simple it only adds about 8ms on average. Switch to expert and adjust it manually to find the value that works best for you.

  • What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode
  • Are ALL devices connected to the R3?
  • What are the speeds you pay for/receive?
  • Have you entered those speeds into the router?
  • How have you setup Congestion Control?
  • How have you setup SmartBOOST?
  • What platform are you playing on and how is it connected, via ethernet or WiFi?

  • Modem which I connected direct without bridge mood (Huawei DG8245W2), you recommend to make the Huawei bridge for better experience ?
  • Yes all device connected only at R3
  • Speed 300 Download and 100 Upload which already reflected at the Smartboost
  • I don't what u mean regarding to setup Congestion Control, if the ping optimizer sure I did,
  • platform (PS5) through Ethernet

Bridge or having the R3 in its DMZ would be best yes. Congestion Control is what Ping Optimizer sets, you can adjust it manually in Ping Optimizer > Advanced, how is it set? How have you setup SmartBOOST?

the nearest server to me 17m and without steady ping, my ping at the game 18

While enable the simple steady ping, the ping always 28 or 35

So I tried to make it expert, but the gameplay is the same

this is how I install the Smartboost

and this is the Ping Optimizer

Presumably you'd want to set Steady Ping to somewhere in between it being off/on so +5ms above your normal ping so set to 23/24ms something like that and try it.

Not Ping Optimizer, go to Ping Optimizer > Advanced, how is Congestion Control setup there?

Try with download & upload at 70% each and see if your overall experience improves

I tried serval games with steady ping simple and the gameplay too much slow, also tries to make it expert with 20ms , 25, 30, and 35ms but all the same slowness, and looks like I am playing on ping 200ms :(

if I disable the steady ping feature. the game better than while enable it,

is there a way to make the steady ping feature useful?

Some people don't get on with Steady Ping, if it's better without then disable it and continue just by forcing the closest servers instead
