R3 and an MMO Game?

Recommended Posts

Hey, so I'm wondering if the R3 will work with an MMO game called Tibia I like to play. Recently my ping has been pretty high and I'm looking to lower it.

How would I go about doing that?

We've not specifically tested the game and with an MMO it's likely you can pick your own servers anyway, however QoS/SmartBOOST will work in the same ways regardless of what you play so ensure you've set those/prioritize your device

I’ll be on an old version of firmware, can I just go ahead and press update or do I have to do it gradually?

Hey, so the R3 isn't picking up the server directly. What can I do to better optimse my connection? (the server is located in Germany)

Yes you can go ahead and click update on the router and allow it to upgrade to the latest for you.

Do this:

  • Quit the application/game/client completely
  • Remove device from the Geo-Filter
  • Give PC PlayStation Device Type in the Device Manager
  • Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu
  • Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter
  • Set up the Geo-Filter how you like
  • Wait 2 minutes
  • Boot up application/game/client

You should be able to see the server/ping it on the Geo-Filter then. You may want to disable the filtering for the device if you have issues getting games and just use it to determine where you're playing and the connection quality.

How have you setup Congestion Control/SmartBOOST?
