LilEnri
Hello all, I have a problem when setting QoS (congestion control) on my netduma does not affect bufferbloat, I can get A+ by setting it to 30/30%. Also ping optimizer does not change the percentages on congestion control. I have already tried to reset router but not happening. thanks
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 29 Administrators Share Posted April 29 What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Are ALL devices connected to the R3? What are the speeds you pay for/receive? Have you entered those speeds into the router? How have you setup Congestion Control? How have you setup SmartBOOST? What game are you playing? Where are you testing bufferbloat? We're aware Ping Optimizer/Speed Test isn't 100% reliable currently and looking into it, in the meantime change it manually to achieve the same effects. LilEnri
- The main modem model is a Fritz Box 7590, and yes I set the R3 in exposed host - the PC I play from is connected to the R3 - 900/300Mbps, yes I entered them - The congestion control settings are: -- always on -- speed test bypass OFF -- run full test ON - In SmartBOOST I entered my PC and the game (call of duty) - I test it from waverform
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 29 Administrators Share Posted April 29 Your PC is connected to the R3 but are all devices in your home connected to the R3 or is everything other than your PC connected to the fritz?

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 29 Administrators Share Posted April 29 Okay that's almost certainly why you can't lower the bufferbloat very well as the R3 isn't able to control the vast majority of the network, anything above it will pull bandwidth and priority away. For the ideal setup ALL devices should be connected to the R3
LilEnri
Ok agreed, but when I go to test the WiFi on both modems/routers is OFF, therefore the band is only focused on the PC, I think. The thing that makes me angry is that after having made the switch from FTTC to FTTH the situation instead of improving has worsened.

Is it worse if you play direct from the fritz as well?
LilEnri
I tried limiting the values in the speed test section and setting the congestion control, so it worked. Netduma Fraser
