Kareem KEZ Posted yesterday at 08:49 PM Share Posted yesterday at 08:49 PM First xbox nat type: Any suggestions on how to fix Xbox “nat type unavailable” Things Ive tried so far; Chose ports manually on Xbox and open same ports on R3. DMZ Xbox on R3 , while putting R3 on Modem/Router DMZ. DMZ Xbox on R3, while have R3 handling pppoe3 and bridge VDSL modem. Purchased static ip so my WAN IP remains the same . Tired port forwarding again didn’t work also DMZ. Purchased a range of Static IP and assigned one to R3 and port forwarding didn’t work also dmz. Second pppoe : i bridge my modem and make R3 handle pppoe, but after a while it stops getting WAN IP even after few restarts, it only works after i reset R3 and redo the setup from scratch
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted yesterday at 09:27 PM Administrators Share Posted yesterday at 09:27 PM Do you get an Open NAT with your console connected directly to your modem?
Kareem KEZ Posted yesterday at 09:32 PM Author Share Posted yesterday at 09:32 PM Nope, i suspect its due to sort of dpi from the isp side to block certain ports or applications, like VOIP ports and vpn apps. If thats the case the only work around would be vpn proxy ( correct me if I’m wrong) What do you think about pppoe issues , should i wait for an update or there’s a work around? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted yesterday at 10:21 PM Administrators Share Posted yesterday at 10:21 PM If you actually pay them for a static IP then I'm surprised you're still not getting an Open NAT. Are you in a country that may have more stringent restrictions on your network? If so then yes probably your only hope is a VPN, however, usually using a VPN won't allow you to get an Open NAT either but you may be able to get moderate which could be an improvement. Overall NAT really matters when it comes to connecting to people, as most games are server based now it shouldn't be too much of an issue. If you're playing with others it could pose a problem if they don't have an Open NAT either. PPPoE we're aware of that issue so we're working on it. Work around would be to have a different router handle PPPoE for the moment.
