DaBoy98
As the title says. Dumaos Smartboost shows my pc is online in the devices tab and in the activities tab, gaming is online when I play, but Marvel Rivals says offline, wether I’m playing the game or not. Then the geo-filter shows marvel rivals as inactive, no matter how many times I load the game
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 20 Administrators Share Posted April 20 Sounds like we need to update the Marvel Rivals service but SmartBOOST is still detecting gaming so it will prioritize. Do this: Quit the application/game/client completely Remove device from the Geo-Filter Give PC PlayStation Device Type in the Device Manager Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter Set up the Geo-Filter how you like Wait 2 minutes Boot up application/game/client You should then see the servers on the map then. DaBoy98
yeah that worked, but I should also mention that smartboost and geo filter worked for marvel rivals on my pc not too long ago, but a couple days ago I had to factory reset my R3 because some of the features weren't working and I was prompted to reset. The reset fixed the features not working but yeah, now it won't recognize rivals on pc. Not sure if this had anything to do with it though
DaBoy98
While steady ping does find the host, it doesn't ever stabilize. Does it still help with ping though?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 20 Administrators Share Posted April 20 It's most likely the cloud that we need to update - it may also be the router hasn't downloaded the latest cloud yet so just in case resync the cloud on SmartBOOST & Geo-Filter and check again. Steady Ping won't always be able to stabilize the ping, if that happens it won't have any affect on the ping but all the other features will still work the same to help your ping. Fraser, in the Smartboost section, there's no option under the 3 dots to Resync cloud anymore. I used to see it on prior firmwares. I do see it for Geo-Filter - do these act independently if one is updated vs the other, or do we just need to click on resync cloud once wherever we find it and it applies to the router everywhere? EDIT: I'm also seeing you suggest more for users to set their gaming PC's as playstation vs "gaming console" - should users be following this? I play Marvel Rivals so i'll likely be trying this sooner or later. I'm sort of sitting on minimal settings as ping has been decent lately. Good catch, I'm not sure why that has disappeared, likely a regression, I will check with the team. No it will just apply for that feature, a reboot will prompt a redownload of all the cloud files though. Being able to select the individual games you play on the Geo-Filter is great, however, the downside is that these services can become outdated quite quickly, especially with frequent game updates. As we're unable to update these services fast enough, this leads to that game service not working properly, i.e. not showing servers, not blocking properly etc. Changing the PC to a Games Console, be it an Xbox or PlayStation (I just say PlayStation for continuity, there is no real difference) allows the Geo-Filter to always work for that game as it won't become out of date (relies on ports which rarely change, rather than DPI). So I usually advise it when people are on PC and have Geo-Filter issues - 9/10 times that resolves it. I also advise it if they are on PC but it is working with their specific game more as a preventative, keeping them gaming for longer rather than coming back to ask for help again. Maybe a Resync all button somewhere on the home page would be neat instead of going through each feature. Just a nice to have for end users in hopes the router can do such a resync across all features. Regarding PC as a "console", does the same work if I set our PCs to "Games Console" vs "Xbox" vs "Playstation"? Are all 3 of these the same? This helps explain more though, thank you. I would LOVE to be able to make a custom SmartBoost activity that I can name myself and apply the specific game ports to, then the router can prioritize that traffic/ports vs the Netduma team having to constantly update. Valorant posts their ports online - I'd love to just set a custom activity named "V1's Valorant Ports" and put the Valorant ports under it and set it to prioritize those over XYZ in Smartboost. This is just food for thought. I'd love to have some more customization/control in that sense so we can adjust to our needs sooner than waiting on updates. i know the above thread is more around geo-filter. Just thinking out loud! More techy users could definitely do this

More techy users could definitely do this It has been added back in the latest Early Access update so must have been a regression. Yeah that would be a good idea, thanks! Yes it should work just the same, all it needs to do is to allow you to add the PC to the Geo-Filter without having to select a specific game. I do like that idea and I'll certainly pass it onto the team! V1k1
