DroneMan
When I look on network activity on my dumaos companion app on my XR500, the router itself is constantly uploading something. Is this a bug? What on earth is going on?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Friday at 03:37 PM Administrators Share Posted Friday at 03:37 PM Very hard to say from the information, it could be from a device instead and just showing as the router. Were you aware of any devices uploading at the time?
DroneMan
So I powered down and back up and it stopped. No devices were uploading anything no. Could it have been a malicious attack?
DroneMan
Ok it's doing it again but this time only at 0.02mb... is this normal behaviour? Where would it be uploading to constantly?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Friday at 05:00 PM Administrators Share Posted Friday at 05:00 PM It wouldn't be a malicious attack no. A small amount would be normal yes, communicating with the cloud for example
DroneMan
Ok so have been monitoring this since I rebooted, the router is constantly uploading it started at 0.02mb but is now upto 0.37mb, is constant and is going up. What on earth is it uploading?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Friday at 09:30 PM Administrators Share Posted Friday at 09:30 PM Almost certainly will be a different device - what does the network monitor say on the web interface?
DroneMan
It says nothing, not showing any usage that corresponds to what it is showing for router in the app
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Friday at 10:20 PM Administrators Share Posted Friday at 10:20 PM Does the web interface actually have an option to show the router traffic? If it doesn't then I suspect this is an issue between a feature that is available on DumaOS 4 but not on DumaOS 3 and so will report incorrectly as the router doesn't support it
DroneMan
No it doesn't show on the web interface
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Friday at 11:36 PM Administrators Share Posted Friday at 11:36 PM Okay thanks, that'll most likely be it then, I'll pass it on to the team to see if they can exclude it from the app
DroneMan
It shows it in the router on the mobile interface. It's always only upload that is being used. Also I'm not convinced it doesn't work properly on xr500 as if I do a speedtest or cloud sync i can see the router usage spike up on both upload and download so it seems it is definitely reading something
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Saturday at 06:07 PM Administrators Share Posted Saturday at 06:07 PM That's not router traffic so it shouldn't be showing up like that which is why it should be removed as it won't be working/reporting correctly
