trypwire
I was told from people online that you can use a VPN for your whole network if you used a NetDuma, so I caved in and bought one as I want to be able to play on other country servers on my PS5, just like I can on my PC. Whenever I connect the VPN to the Duma via DumaOS, I can't even search for a game on Call of Duty as it says "cannot connect to database" or something similar, but when I turn the Hybrid VPN back off, it allows me to search again. But on the PC, I can get into games with the VPN active, just I can't on my PS5. Any one able to help me figure this out? It may sound sad, but this is the only reason I got the thing, and if I can't get it to work on the PS5, I'ma just have to revert back to my old default ISP router and return the Duma, which I would rather not as it does look beautiful besides our two-pc set up! I use ProtonVPN and have tried both OpenVPN protocol and Wireguard, both are unable to find games on the PS5.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 6 Administrators Share Posted March 6 You don't need a VPN to force servers in different countries, you can use the Geo-Filter to do that. They're also actively taking steps to prevent people using VPNs so I can't see it working for too long. Please provide a screenshot of the VPN page when you've connected to it. trypwire
I'll have a try with the Geo-Filter instead of using the VPN then, see if that makes any difference I have been using VPN on PC for the last 2 years with zero issue though, still works perfectly fine to this day, but the PS5 just can't search for a game Provide a screenshot of the bit where it says VPN connected on the dumaos? As it states the VPN is active on both my PC and my PS5, the PS5 even loads up online still, and in the settings on Cod it even says the "geographical" location has changed, but cannot find a game whatsoever, vey strange. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 6 Administrators Share Posted March 6 It may be they're focusing more on console players re:VPNs, I would imagine so given the populations for the consoles probably dwarfs the PC players and so would have more of an impact. If you select a closer server for the VPN does it work?

If you select a closer server for the VPN does it work? In regards to the closer server, it allowed me to connect to very close countries to the UK, like Belgium/France, but when searching for a game, it started searching at 50ms+ off the bat, and it literally was still British UK lobbies. Which is why I wanted to get the VPN to go further, as the countries I chose on PC work fine, but not on PS5. Even the Geo Filter did absolutely nothing for me, and rarely even detected I was even on the game and "searching" for games, and when it did say my PS5 was online, it wouldn't even search for games. I have spent the last 2 weeks and more trying to get this R3 to work via VPN and Geo-Filter, and have had zero luck with it whatsoever. How do I go about getting a refund and sending it back? As I know I read somewhere it states to open a post on here before asking for a refund, which I did, and I tried VPN + GeoFilter, both simultaneously and separately, and not a single method worked. There's been plenty of times where my download speed is way, way slower than the original router we had to begin with (cheap and nasty one we got with the broadband), and to be fair, that router had the same features and more, than this Duma does, besides the "geo filter" and "vpn" options, which none worked for me whatsoever, and I've heard absolutely nothing but an ear-ache from my partner about "wasting £250 on something that doesn't even work". So my main question right now is, how do I get a refund and return it? Edited March 26 by trypwire add more detail I missed
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Thursday at 04:29 PM Administrators Share Posted Thursday at 04:29 PM You're creating an encrypted tunnel between the device and the game server that we can't read - if we could then it wouldn't be very secure or a VPN - so that's why the Geo-Filter isn't working with it. What you want to do wouldn't work. The VPN on its own you can connect to but as the game is actively working against them it may not work very well. If the Geo isn't working with VPN disabled that will be an easy fix we can sort out if you'd like to continue troubleshooting. Speeds are a common starting issue/question so I'm sure we can sort that also. Email [email protected] with your order number and we'll provide return instructions - it's 30 days from the day you received it for a refund/return.
