I have an XR1000, and it's giving me high ping in PUBG

Recommended Posts

I have an XR1000 with the latest firmware, but it's giving me high ping in PUBG. I have checked everything—WiFi channels, Geo-Filter, and every possible setting mentioned in articles. When I check the ping in the PUBG lobby, the XR1000 gives me 20 to 30 ms, while my TP-Link Archer router gives me 5 to 10 ms. Since the XR1000 is a gaming router and much more expensive than the TP-Link, why is it showing such high ping?

I also have an iPhone 16 Pro Max, but the 5GHz WiFi signal does not show up unless I restart my phone. It appears the first time after restarting, and if I connect, it works fine. However, if I disconnect, I have to restart my phone again to see the 5GHz network. On my laptop, the 5GHz network shows up properly. I have checked the WiFi channel and bandwidth, disabled and enabled AX, but nothing has worked. My iPhone 16 Pro Max is a US model, and I bought the router from the UK.

The third issue is with the Geo-Filter. When I enable it and add my device, reducing the radius to my nearest server (within my country), the game works, but my voice does not reach my squad members. However, when I include the Europe server, voice chat works, but there is too much delay on the European server.

  1. What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode
  2. Are ALL devices connected to the R3?
  3. What are the speeds you pay for/receive?
  4. Have you entered those speeds into the router?
  5. How have you setup Congestion Control?
  6. How have you setup SmartBOOST?
  7. What game are you playing?
  8. What platform are you playing on and how is it connected, via ethernet or WiFi?
  9. How have you setup the Geo-Filter?

The WiFi channels you have selected are available in the US? You've disabled Smart Connect is that right? Add the voice server to the allow list, it'll just be for voice, it won't impact your game connection.
