Boydausten
I recently bought a new xr1000 because my old one was going in and out after about 3 years. On the old one my lowest ping in all the games I play was 25-27. Also just plugged into modem is 25-27. With new router im getting 40 plus for my lowest on every game. I feel like I tried everything in DumaOS and just did a full reset on the router and nothing has changed

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 7 Administrators Share Posted February 7 What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the XR? E.g XR in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Are ALL devices connected to the XR? What are the speeds you pay for/receive? Have you entered those speeds into the router? How have you setup Congestion Control? How have you setup Traffic Prioritization? What game are you playing? What platform are you playing on and how is it connected, via ethernet or WiFi? How have you setup the Geo-Filter? Where are you checking the ping, in game or on the Geo-Filter? What firmware version are you on? Do you have an Open NAT? Not sure of modem I just switched it out from spectrum for a new one to make sure that wasn’t the issue so it’s brand new from spectrum. Only device I currently have connected to the router is my pc. I pay for 1000mbps. Yes I had the speeds entered tried congestion control off and around 70%-80% tried putting bandwidth allocation to 50-100 on gaming traffic controller I had priority set to my computer games are bo6,marvel rivals,r6 mainly computer with ethernet checking ping in game and on the heat map tried geo different ways with below 1000km to over 1000km and ping assist from 30-50 Firmware-1.0.0.64_1.0.49 yes open NAT
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 7 Administrators Share Posted February 7 The modem should have a sticker on the underside for the model. Congestion Control is the main one you should have on, Bandwidth Allocation reset it back to the defaults. How did you add the priority exactly, what service? If you check the router for the ping use the Geo-Filter not heatmap. Put Ping Assist to 0 and try again with close servers. There is a newer version you should upgrade to for security purposes https://kb.netgear.com/000066233/XR1000-Firmware-Version-1-0-0-

I believe the model is EU2251 turned congestion control on and reset bandwidth allocation set priority with traffic prioritization in qos set to my pc
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 10 Administrators Share Posted February 10 You can disregard the modem comments I said then thank you. How have you set Congestion Control? What service did you select for PC? Have you noticed any difference now?

Tried to do auto setup and it wasn’t finishing just stayed on test 6 for 15 min. tried having it on always on and 70% for both set prioritization to game console for my pc Hasn’t been a difference
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 10 Administrators Share Posted February 10 I'd suggest testing with downloads while following: https://support.netduma.com/frequently-asked-questions/legacyfaqs/test-your-ping/ start with a high value e.g 95%, test, decrease 10%, test, decrease 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good, then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. Important to note that Download/Upload on CC don't have to be the same value & you may have a better experience with differing values.
