mikel22
what are the most optimal settings?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 11 Administrators Share Posted January 11 That's quite a broad question without any insight into your network - what does your physical network look like and what are you wanting to achieve?
mikel22
it's hard to explain but I have 3 wifi 6 routers including the xr1000v1 but I have my xr1000 connected to a wifi 6 booster but I can't seem to get a high download speed and the Internet plan I'm on is 940 mbps. I wonder if I can set the xr 1000 to bridge mode so I can get higher Ethernet speeds Behringer-93
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 12 Administrators Share Posted January 12 Explain it like this modem > XR1000 > WiFi booster > XR1000 > All devices etc. I can't really advise without knowing the layout, you could draw it if that's easier and provide a picture. There isn't a bridge mode but there is AP mode, essentially shuts down all router functions and just makes it provide WiFi. If you're doing a speed test at the bottom of the setup and there are devices connected to all different points in the setup then your speeds probably will be lower because everything above it can take bandwidth away from it
mikel22
so my main modem is downstairs in the basement then my wifi 6 booster is in the second floor which is the living room and the kitchen and then upstairs at the third floor there's another wifi 6 booster in the main bedroom and then a wifi 6E extender in the guest bedroom with the XR1000 connected to the wifi 6E extender by Ethernet
mikel22
did not mean to duplicate that question Lol. what can I do to get just Ethernet only and can I disable the WiFi on the xr1000 and just only use Ethernet?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 12 Administrators Share Posted January 12 Are you able to move the modem to the second floor and then connect the XR1000 to that? This would then provide more central coverage for WiFi and also allow you to connect all your devices/boosters to the XR1000 so that it can then control your entire network and you can benefit from its features. mikel22
I can't move my modem to the second floor it's permanently mounted there and all of the wiring goes straight to the basement
mikel22
what if I just connected the xr1000 to the main modem downstairs in the basement

Caution
This is my setup. ONT (full Fiber) > XR1000 > XR500 and 2x EX7700. XR1000 (Mina router) Lan Port 1 > XR500 - AP mode (Main WIFI and Guest WIFI) Lan Port 2 > EX7700 (1) - AP (Main WIFI) Lan Port 3 > EX7700 (2) - AP (Guest WIFI (not in use at the moment)) XR500 Lan Port 1 > PS5 Lan Port 2 > TV Lan Port 3 > SonoS Beam (speaker) EX7700 (1) Lan Port > Son's PS5 EX700 (2) (Not in use only use to extend Guest WIFI) Lan Port > Nothng Connected. The issue with this set up in this Tree formate it shows devices offline or on the LAN even tho they are online connected wirelessly to XR500 or EX7700,
