XBOX Disconnecting in middle of games

Recommended Posts

I havent tried with geo filter off. the problem is the whole internet for my xbox would turn off for about 2 minutes, the party chat would disconnect also. for example just now, i turned my xbox on while im typing this and in just a few minutes i watch the internet go out on it asking me to connect to the network. didnt launch a game or nothing

Are any other devices losing the internet when the Xbox does or just the Xbox? Do you notice any patterns as to what may be happening in your surroundings or with what devices may be being used at the same time when it disconnects?

Could you get me a log directly after the disconnect happens and tell me the time it happens so I can match it up/more easily find the corresponding lot entries please?

In this case at least it was because your public IP lease renewed, are you able to contact the ISP to see if they can extend the lease time for the public IP for you? Better yet if they could give you a static public IP? Unlikely as it's usually something that costs extra

What do you mean by enabling SmartBOOST exactly? As in it is actually fully disabled and then you enabled it? If so that does make sense, it would reload everything.

Default gaming should work

yeah it would be disabled and when i enable it, the internet starts going out on the r3 and im kicked out of games. the main reason for me disabling it was because of the disconnections. for example, since ive enabled it 30 minutes ago, the internet disconnected about 4 times. ill keep seeing connect to internet on my xbox

Hi, I am having the same problem but with EFootball.

At 21:36 I was playing fine, at around 21:38 the disconnect happened, because at 21:39 I sat in front on my computer.

Can you see that the problem is?

In this case the IP address for your Xbox renewed itself, set a static/reserved IP for the Xbox in Settings and that should prevent it happening again in future

Thank you. Just to confirm, if the R3 goes into a main router, the static IP needs to be set that up in the main router?

No on the R3, you're setting a static/reserved local (LAN) IP for the Xbox itself. Super easy on the R3:

  1. Go to Settings > DHCP
  2. Click Add Rule
  3. Click your device
  4. Click save

and that's it!

Yes, still having this disconnect issue. First it lags for 30 seconds, then disconnect. (you can see in the second part of the log after the separator when it started lagging)

The first part in the log today was during a call. I often have lags during calls but using a very fast fiber line. Any idea what that is?

Thank you.
