UFL Matchmaking issues. High Ping.

Hi there, firstly I'm not sure if this issue is related to the r2, but I thought I would post in here on the off chance anyone has any trouble shooting options. 

 

Basically I can't find games on UFL and when I do the ping is crazy high (100-200ms). Strangely in the pre game lobby the ping meter is showing 30ms. Outside of this I simply can't find games regularly at all. Sometimes it's taking upwards of 5 minutes. 

I'm connected via ethernet and I'm using nextdns. Could nextdns be causing issues? I can't see how but thought I'd ask. 

Any suggestions would he really helpful.

First thing to check if it's never happened before and the only thing that has changed is the DNS then disable nextdns and then check. If it still doesn't work then disable the Geo-Filter, does it work then?

Hey. Thanks for getting back to me. I tried with nextdns disabled and it did seem to help initially, but later I ran into similar issues. I was finding games more often but the ping was still high in game. It seems specific to UFL only, my other games are fine with nextdns enabled. Anything else I could try? I've looked around on UFL reddit, but I can't find many people reporting similar issues to me.

It may just simply be that it's a new game and at this time of year ISPs and game servers are under load anyway. What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode. How have you setup SmartBOOST/Congestion Control?

I have the R2. My house has ONT so the router is the only connection. I don't need to use bridge. Congestion control is set to auto mode.

What percentage for Congestion Control? How have you set Traffic Prioritization? How do you have the Geo-Filter set up?

Hey. Sorry for the delayed reply, been away for a few days.

 

Geofilter is set up on simple, with most of the UK and a bit of Europe (where most of the servers are). Congestion control is set to auto - 100% for both download and upload. Also set to priortise gaming and specifically the playstation. Still struggling to find games and sometimes when I do the ping will say 30ms in pregame lobby, but in the game its 100s. It's really strange.

Congestion Control isn't active with those settings, changed download & upload to 70% on Always and see if that improves it

Même problème pour moi impossible de jouer avec le netduma sur ufl. J'ai essayé sans je trouve des parties instantanément avec un bon ping avec c'est une catastrophe. Ping élevé, lag... J'ai bien mon netduma dans la Dmz et j'obtiens un nat 1 sur ufl. J'ai essayé de désactiver le geo filtre mais ça ne change rien. Tout mes autres jeux fonctionne parfaitement avec netduma sauf celui-là. Je n'avais pas ce problème dans l'accès Alpha UFL ni dans les autres versions.

Not being added to the router wouldn't cause high ping or lag - what ping are you seeing through the router? How do you have Congestion Control/SmartBOOST set?

Le ping via le routeur indique 18 ms tout comme celui du menu. Mais une fois le jeu lancer dans le menu ça affiche des valeurs de 30 ms mais en jeu ça peut monter jusqu'à 999ms avec des Freezes et lag et même des interruption de partie voir des blocages.

Les délais de recherche via netduma sont extrêmement long.

Mon netduma est branché via le mode bridge de la box de mon opérateur Sfr et il est dans la Dmz.

La Congestion e st à 50% et en toujours.

J'ai la fibre optique de Sfr avec la box sfr 8 de sagem mais j'ignore le modèle exacte. J'ai un débit pouvant aller à 900 Mb en montant et descendant.

Are ALL devices connected to the R3? 50% is very low for Congestion Control - I'd suggest testing with downloads while following: https://support.netduma.com/frequently-asked-questions/legacyfaqs/test-your-ping/ start with a high value e.g 95%, test, decrease 10%, test, decrease 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good, then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. Important to note that Download/Upload on CC don't have to be the same value & you may have a better experience with differing values. Once you've got good values check the game again.
