Raw
I got fiber, and the Netduma R3. The internet was good for a while, and now its spiking every few seconds like you can see on the picture. I can feel like I'm skipping in game, and sometimes i even teleport back. Not really a packet loss issue, looks more like a jitter/ Ping spike issue. Valorant has been unplayable these last couple of days. I even tried updating to the beta, but the problems proceeded. The Netduma is directly connected to the ONT and my pc is connected with a cat cable. In smartBoost i have my device as top priority, also valorant. And in the ping optimizer it is set to "Run a full test", "Expert" and dabbled with the congestion control mode between "Always on" and "auto". Tried restarting the router, legit I feel like I have tried everything at this point. Feels like the problem might just be the Node that the street i live in is connected to. Hopefully you guys can help me resolve this issue.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 15 Administrators Share Posted December 15 If it was fine then nothing changed then almost certainly it's due to the holidays - the usual peak time congestion you'd get with your ISP will become more prevalent over longer periods of time as people take time off for the holidays, likewise server load for the games you play will increase as well and so that could be it. Play direct to your ONT, you'll have no devices on your network that could affect you so it'd just be the ISP and game that are factors, if you experience the same issue then one of them will be the cause. If it's the game the only thing you can do is force servers you wouldn't normally, their ping may be higher but it may also be more stable.
