vneck Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Keep getting error that says “RPC error 'ERROR UNKNOWN": In also got this when I installed it. I also reset the router multiple times. I updated the firmware can someone please help
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 7, 2024 Administrators Posted December 7, 2024 The last image is fine, you just need to access using 10.0.0.1 Where are you seeing the error, on what page? Does it happen when you load the page or when clicking a setting etc?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 7, 2024 Administrators Posted December 7, 2024 What firmware version are you on? Did this only start happening recently? Could you resync the cloud and then provide the logs please from the System Information page? If you click okay on the error can you then use the Geo-Filter as normal or does it re-appear?
vneck Posted December 7, 2024 Author Posted December 7, 2024 firmware 1.0.0.74_1.0.63. I received my router yesterday and it started to happen the logged in to routerlogin.com it reappears after clicking okay log-1733600302832.txt
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 7, 2024 Administrators Posted December 7, 2024 How did you reset the router exactly? Is this a new or second hand router? Does the error happen only after you add a device to the Geo-Filter or can you make it happen before that just by re-syncing the cloud?
vneck Posted December 7, 2024 Author Posted December 7, 2024 reset behind the router by holding it down on the reset button. second hand router.. before and after
vneck Posted December 7, 2024 Author Posted December 7, 2024 This message comes out now. It now says “unterminated JSON encoded ….”when I click ok it pops back up
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 7, 2024 Administrators Posted December 7, 2024 How long did you hold it for? Did it show you the Setup Wizard after you did it? Judging by the bottom message you don't have the router connected correctly which is probably causing those issues - do you have the WAN/internet port on the XR connected to one of the LAN ports on your ISP modem/router? Could you provide a picture of the physical setup please?
vneck Posted December 7, 2024 Author Posted December 7, 2024 30 seconds, yes I had to create a new admin password, it ran my speed test, checked for firmware update, ect…
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 7, 2024 Administrators Posted December 7, 2024 Could you downgrade to https://kb.netgear.com/000065541/XR1000-Firmware-Version-1-0-0-68 and see if it works as expected then please?
vneck Posted December 7, 2024 Author Posted December 7, 2024 I downgraded to the version you provided and it rebooted itself. Now it’s stuck trying to load up
vneck Posted December 7, 2024 Author Posted December 7, 2024 So finally load up the router login. Still not working. I got these two messages Picture 1: I sync to cloud and received that message pic 2: I try to set home manually at a different state and that came out.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 8, 2024 Administrators Posted December 8, 2024 Could you try with http://192.168.1.1 or http://routerlogin.net please and see if it makes any difference. Also make sure the browser isn't forcing you to connect via HTTPS. Does your web browser have an Adblocker enabled? If so disable it and check. Does the System Information page show you have internet/a WAN IP?
vneck Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 (edited) Was not able to login with: http://192.168.1.1 I was able to login with this method : http://routerlogin.net I also turned off blocker and still the same issue system information does show I have internet/ a wan IP Edited December 8, 2024 by vneck
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 8, 2024 Administrators Posted December 8, 2024 What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the XR? E.g. XR in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Do you have Armor enabled?
vneck Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 Model “BGW210-700”. I did not set anything on my internet providers modem/router. I simply plugged the XR Ethernet cable to my internet providers. Nothing has been changed. Armor is not enabled
vneck Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 So I think we got some progress. now it’s able to sync to the cloud and I can finally click on ping heatmap. but nothing shows in ping heatmap when I chose bo6 or warzone. also for geo-filter: I can now resync to cloud and when I add device and pick call of duty (pc) it says “error unable to install because some filters are overlapping”
vneck Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 Should I update the router now?. When I go to check for new update it says no new firmware version available . Current version 1.0.0.68
vneck Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 So I exit out of google chrome and log back into the router and the ping heatmap was working. I saw servers. I went to geo-filter and added my pc with call of duty and did not work. I clicked on ping heatmap again, and now it shows no servers anymore
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 8, 2024 Administrators Posted December 8, 2024 You've already added your device to the Geo-Filter, that's why when you try to add it with a different service it's giving you that message. The way you've added it is fine, just enable filtering and it will work. Can you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing when Ping Heatmap isn't working please? You don't need to update necessarily but can if you wish - it's just a security change nothing else. I would suggest putting the XR WAN IP found on the System Information page in the DMZ on your BGW - this will help you get an Open NAT and also potentially solve any issues where it may be blocking traffic from the router causing some of the things we've seen so far.
