moot
Hi I have a 300Mbps connection from JioFiber in India. Unfortunately I am stuck with this ISP for the time being and their latency is terrible, especially during gaming (CoD MW3) I purchased the Netduma R3 router and have it set up behind the JioFiber Router/ONT ( Internet ----> JioFiber ONT ---> DMZ ---> Netduma R3 ). I've assigned the DMZ IP to the Netduma MAC so it always gets the same IP. The speed test on the router just shows a static image and doesn't run (i skipped it during set up). The best way would've been to set up the JioFiber ONT in Bridge mode but unfortunately it just does not work - there is not a whole lot online on how to do it nor could the Jio technicians even help with it (including a few calls I made to the "backend" teams). I know this would require me to figure out the VLAN ID used by the ISP for their routers which the technicians have no clue about and then clone the ONT MAC on the Netduma (which is doable but I'm stuck at the VLAN ID step). So I figured DMZ kind of achieves a static route. But the network speed I get is around 60Mbps on the Netduma R3 compared to the full 300Mbps I am getting on the JioFiber Router/ONT. If anyone can please help, let me know what more information I can provide or how I can attach relevant information or logs etc.?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 3 Administrators Share Posted November 3 Where are you checking the speeds, on speedtest.net? Can you provide a screenshot of the WAN & LAN settings pages please?
moot
Hi Thanks for the response. I wanted to provide an update - the issue is resolved now and Geo-filtering is working, thanks to which I don't need ExitLag anymore! I was checking speeds using both Fast and Okla sppedtest.net; the issue lay somewhere with the ISP ONT because on resetting that the speed issue was resolved.
