Port Fowarding Moderate>Open NAT Type

Hey, was just wondering if anyone had a solution to a problem im having.

 

ive opened all relevent ports but still showing as moderate NAT type. My set up is as follwed

BT Hub which is connected to my Fibre Box (ports opened on here, also i only use this as a means to acess internet, basically wifi turned off etc)

Then i have my R3 plugged into my BT Hub. ( i use my R3 as my main router for all traffic prio and QOS features. Ports also opened on this router.

iI useually play on PC, is there something specific i am missing or is to just back luck. I have ipv6 disabled on my R3 router - cant find away to disable it on my bt hub i also have uPnP enabled on my R3. on there it useually only shows me one port thats opened, which i belive is 3074 ? im trying to open all Cod Black ops 6 ports. any help would be appreicated.

You'll have to contact BT to get your ISP router put into ipv4. I 've had to do this with Virgin Media.

Have you tried also on the PC windows firewall making rules too for port forwarding you just copy and paste all UDP ports for inbound and outbound traffic and same for TCP so you'll have 2 rules inbound for TCP and UDP and 2 outbound for the same TCP and UDP.

If using any VPN's this could also affect your NAT type.

Here's what I've done as a example for COD warzone you can do the same for game launchers if that was something also you'd want to do.

Hey, is it a hassle to get them to do it ? how did your experiance go? Yeah done all the windows firewall stuff too. seen a good tutorial on YouTube about this that was helpful.

and nahh Ping is King so no VPN's here haha

You'll need to remove the port forwards on the BT hub and put the R3 in the BT hub DMZ instead, then check if you get an Open NAT. If you don't disable the Geo-Filter, restart the game then check, if you then get open you can ignore the moderate reading going forward.

So the R3 WAN IP is in the DMZ on the BT hub right? Have you made any changes on the R3 for ports as well?

yeah R3 in dmz mode from bt side.

 

do i need to delete the ports on the r3 as well, i thought it was just BT hub i had to delete them ?

Yes but I want you to be at a blank slate on that front - if you've made incorrect rules that could do the opposite of what you want

Okay take me through exactly what you've done, with screenshots if possible and I can better tell where the problem is

i reopened ports on r3 (nothing on bt hub) and nat type seems to be moderate. not sure if its just my isp thats stopping me from having open nat

If the R3 is in the DMZ on the Hub and then as a test you put your PC in the DMZ on the R3 then check and it's still moderate then it's possible you have a CG-NAT. 

Remove the PC from the DMZ as soon as you've done the test though.

No hassle at all getting them to swap it over a 5 minute phone call at about 2pm and then it was left to them it was switched over around 10pm that evening.
