JoyKiller
Hello and good afternoon all, We just had a major network issue, and it took me about an hour to get everything back up and running. I'm still troubleshooting, but I believe our switch has died. However I was seeing some peculiar activity with the R3, such as it shutting down all connections for about 5 minutes, back up for about 2 minutes, then back down for another 5 minutes or so, and when it came back up, it did not seem to want to recognize any connections for about another 15 minutes. I was wondering if someone more knowledgeable than me might be willing to take a look at these logs, particularly around the 14:29 mark and let me know if we have bigger issues than just a dead ethernet switch. Thank you! R3_2024-09-01T21_30_45.193Z_logs.txt
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 2 Administrators Share Posted September 2 I can pass the logs on to a dev to take a look at but we have identified switches as a potential trigger for the R3 to drop the internet occasionally so I suspect with the switch suddenly dying that it probably caused the R3 to be very confused and deal with it more abnormally than it would if that bug we've identified wasn't present. Has it been fine ever since?
JoyKiller
Yeah, it sure has. I've taken the switch out of the equation and things have been fine. I picked up a new switch last night but haven't put it in yet. Just means a couple consoles won't have connection until I do. I'd still like to hear you and your teams thoughts about those logs, I'm sure you all are working on plenty of other things, so just if/when you have the time.
