Venetinova
Hey how are you? Hope you're doing well. I love the geo-filter option and i've been using it for a year and it's been working fine however I've decided to download overwatch 2 and play it with my oversea friend. I am from Canada and he lives in Dubai at the moment. The game has three servers, North america , europe and Middle East. There isn't an option to select a server in game unfortunately. Whenever I queue up with him, it always puts us in Middle East servers and I end up getting around 220 ping. So I thought about using geo filter to limit it to just NA and Europe servers but what happened is when we find a game, it's still on the middle east servers, he gets to load in and I can't load into the game because geo filter is blocking that server so I end up getting temporarily banned for quitting a competitive game. Any solutions to filter the servers more effectively? Also I own a netduma r2, if the r3 can solve that problem, I would be willing to upgrade
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 17 Administrators Share Posted August 17 I'm not sure the Geo-Filter actually works for OW2 unfortunately but you would definitely need to be the party leader which would work for most games but if I remember rightly that still doesn't work so the only solution I can think of would be that your friend would need the router as well so you can both set it to the same area.
