P3 Renegade Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 I have been getting random drops all day, sometimes for a few seconds others for around 5 minutes. With the 5-minute drops, I can access the interface but I can't click anything (like trying to look at the logs) until a reconnecting to the router pop-up happens and completes, where the internet starts working again right after. The logs I have are from one of the few-second drops. R3_2024-08-02T01_21_14.042Z_logs.txt
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 2, 2024 Administrators Posted August 2, 2024 Nothing really in the logs unfortunately - what firmware version are you on? Do you notice a pattern with when it starts happening, e.g. downloading a large file? Are you using a network switch?
P3 Renegade Posted August 2, 2024 Author Posted August 2, 2024 I'm on firmware 4.0.219. If there was nothing in the logs I would not be surprised if the mini disconnections are ISP-related, they've been having outages constantly for 2 weeks lately. The longer drops that I described have been happening for longer though. Not daily, but often. I haven't noticed any patterns at least not with my personal usage, seems to happen mostly randomly at different times of the day from early to really late and anywhere in between. I am using a network switch in my office to get ethernet to PC/consoles. But from what I can tell it is affecting all devices because my phone will drop WiFi and I'll hear the groans in the room over when it disconnects them from whatever they are playing on the PS4 and 5 in that room.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 2, 2024 Administrators Posted August 2, 2024 We have identified switches as a potential cause of disconnects so could you remove that from the setup for awhile and use WiFi instead and see if you get the same issue? It would affect all devices as well.
P3 Renegade Posted August 2, 2024 Author Posted August 2, 2024 I'm not playing on the consoles much at the moment so I could just run it direct to my PC and keep them on WiFi for now. Let's see if this changes anything.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 2, 2024 Administrators Posted August 2, 2024 Great thanks, keep us posted!
