ShinyShelvey
When I play EA FC 24 I never connect to the London server despite it being easily the closest to my location. Anyone got any ideas?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 29 Administrators Share Posted July 29 Could you provide a screenshot of your Geo-Filter please?
ShinyShelvey
When I search for games only the Ireland , Netherlands and French servers pop up not the London one.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 29 Administrators Share Posted July 29 Ping Heatmap isn't showing any servers in London for the game, can you connect to it with the Geo-Filter disabled?
ShinyShelvey
There is a server in London for me but I only seem to connect to the other 3 around it.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 29 Administrators Share Posted July 29 It may not be active at the moment - can you connect to it with the Geo-Filter disabled?
ShinyShelvey
I’ve been searching a lot the last couple of days and it hasn’t come up once, also I’m not sure there is a way of knowing what server you connect to without Geo filter on eafc
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 29 Administrators Share Posted July 29 If you just toggle the filtering off where you added the device you can see the servers and still ping them but you won't be influencing where you connect so it's a good test to see if the server is available to connect to regardless of the Geo-Filter. ShinyShelvey
It still doesn’t pop up
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 29 Administrators Share Posted July 29 Okay so it won't be the router then, it'll actually be the game not using the server at this time, if it's only happened recently then it's possible that its down for maintenance
ShinyShelvey
Only got the router a couple of days ago and it hasn’t popped up hopefully it’s just down for maintenance then. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it. Netduma Fraser
Devastate
I am able to connect to the London servers just fine, so the servers aren't currently down. When using filtering mode, try reducing the filter size of the circle to exclude the non-London servers.
ShinyShelvey
I’ve tried this and it still never pops up for some reason, something must be blocking it for me for whatever reason, thanks for trying to help though.
ShinyShelvey
Just to check, when searching for an eafc game the London server is popping up on the geo filter map?
Devastate
This is about Ultimate Team, right? If so, when I found an opponent on Division Rivals, then the server would appear.
ShinyShelvey
Yes thanks for clarifying, i was just checking as I only seem to get the Ireland, France and Netherlands servers in rivals and champs despite living in England, weird. Devastate
Devastate
When you tried reducing the filter circle to include only the London servers, were you just infinitely searching for a game?
ShinyShelvey
Yes, this is what is looks like when I first click on eafc, these are the only servers and peer connections that pop up when I’m searching for a game with a bigger radius.
Devastate
Do you ever connect to that peer connection?
ShinyShelvey
Yes but that’s not the London server right?
Devastate
I believe it might be. The labels aren't always correct, so sometimes they can be misidentified and sometimes the server/peer mislocated. This is what mine looks like when connecting to EA servers. When clicked on, does yours display the city/town as London?
ShinyShelvey
I’ve turned all stuff off now so I’ll check tomorrow but Yh seems like you could be right. Thanks a lot man.
Devastate
An easy way to check for tomorrow is when you are selecting kits. If your ping is around 4 ms, then you'll be on London servers, and if it's around 11 ms or above, then you're most likely not.
