Connecting to servers outside radius and then kicked from them.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I just received the router and I'm very happy with it.

But this issue happens sometimes and I don't know what's causing it.

I have already disabled Steady Ping, Geo-latency, and fast search.

and enabled strict mode, and have set Ping assist to 0,0.

The game is Halo Infinite.

For Halo because they made those changes to block Geo-Filters essentially, the only way you'll be able to filter for the game is to use Geo-Latency, you may receive servers outside your radius but it shouldn't happen too often.

I've been trying Halo MCC as well, and after I used Geo-Latency all I've been getting is US servers.

So I'm thinking geo-filtering doesn't work I guess?

Where country are you playing from? How big is the radius you have set? Are you using Ping Assist as well? What is the search method you're using on the game?

What firmware version are you on currently?

Saudi Arabia.

It's pretty big and includes all the EU servers along with a couple others.

My ping assist is set at 0,0 / off.

What do you mean by search method? If it's the in-game you're referring to I haven't changed anything; open to everything.

I just upgraded to the latest firmware as I read this, if it's the reason I might have to try again now.

So I just tried Halo MCC, and got connected to East US when it's outside my radius.

but this time after using Geo-Latency, it didn't kick me out.

I'll have the team check with Halo and see if it's still working with Geo-Latency. In the meantime I would suggest doing a factory reset now you've upgraded and then try again.

Same after factory reset.

As far as they can tell it is working, they were able to force a server in a different country just using Geo-Latency. Can you provide a screenshot of your Geo-Filter page please?

Make the radius smaller and move the location so you're covering yourself and Europe and try again

This is as small as possible to include all the EU servers, which is the best for me and what I'm trying to play on.

You could do this instead:

What does that picture entail exactly?

Elaborate please because I didn't understand what needs to be done there.

The team couldn't reproduce this - you have a PC and Xbox added there, which are you playing the game on or both? Do you have the Geo-Filter enabled before you turn on the game?

Yes. Xbox is for Halo 5 which is what works and makes me think that the Geofilter is working correctly.

But when I use the PC for the other games; be it MCC or Infinite, it does not work.

Instead of adding the PC as a console have you tried the Halo Infinite option?

Tried that as well.
