Valorant on the latest firmware update:

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Hoping I can get some help with an issue I've been running into lately that I didn't have in the previous firmware I was running on the Netduma R3. It's happened about 3 times now since I've updated, but every time I get into my first game on Valorant (Team deathmatch, etc.) connection drops mid game, and then comes back and it does that on and off for the first game and then usually once that game ends and I load into another game, it seems to stop. Not too sure what that can be but wanted to see if this is something you guys have seen or are experiencing? Please let me know your thoughts!

Thanks!

By connection drops do you mean you actually get disconnected then re-connected or more like you get a big stutter then it continues? If it's a proper disconnect do you notice it on any other devices? Are you using the Geo-Filter? Could you get the logs from Settings > Troubleshooting when it happens please?

What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode

How have you setup Congestion Control?

Yes like it disconnects and then reconnects, game stutters, goes into loading screen and then puts me back into the game and it does that off and on for like a couple mins. I'm trying to see if I can get it to do it again so I can send you the system logs. I do have geo-filter on, I can try turning it off and seeing if it happens again. As for connection drops happening on other devices, I've mainly noticed it on my iPhone from time to time and smart TV's while watching Netflix.

For traffic routing, I haven't really messed with any DMZ or bridge settings, just whatever the default or standard is. Same for congestion control, have not configured any of those settings. Honestly just plug and play for the most part with the modem and R3.

Modem I am using is a spectrum modem, I will link it below..

Okay that's a pure modem so you can ignore that aspect you're good on that front. It could be local congestion perhaps, in Ping Optimizer > Advanced change Congestion Control to 70% for both download and upload and set to Always On, then see if you get it again please.
