Hello everyone, I would like to share my research, I work on openwrt with the xr 500 I found something very interesting

Given that netduma is based on open wrt I would like to know why you do not release a version of duma os on a base of open wrt containing the NSS
The images speak for themselves I've never had this result before with so much speed I'm stunned by the result image

I'm sure you can attain those results using DumaOS also but our aim isn't to build a shell around OpenWRT that people can use but an entire router operating system

So percentages 100 - 1% made no difference on the results? Was it set to Always? Were ALL devices connected to the XR?

Then it makes difference only on the upload nothing on the download it just inscreases the bufferbloat and and I didn’t have the same result on the upload compared to open wrt

yes it set on always

and all devices are connected on the xr500

how did you configure open wrt ? I installed it, but I can't access the internet

I just installed it with tu duma os and I have connection

give me some more information and you know you have a forum for that ?
what equipment do you use what type of connection do you use

Ont / modem isp / xr500

ont /xr500

i don’t really get that because  when you plug your modem and install open wrt you have internet automatically if you’re connected on your modem isp

i am wondering how to do this as well. Did you ever figure out how to get wrt setup on your xr500?
I just wanna see if were in the same boat here , i have isp provided internet , with nighthawk cm2000 modem and have a network switch also netgear, but do not have it plugged in.
I am desperate to know if openwrt worked for you, ever since i have setup the xr500, my speeds on my xbox series x (i play rocket league on console only) when using my asus or my nighthawk rax80 or my archer c6000 were 1000+mbps, now with xr500 , seriously this isnt funny, try not to laugh. 90mbps MAX! So please let me know if you figured it out

I haven't figured it out.
currently back to stock firmware

this screen is on version of open espescially for xr500  it's a build with sofware offloading but not very nice in a game, btw if u uses normal config on open wrt like cake qos and dscp classify the maximum bandwith is 120mbits with xr500

config on open wrt is very easy  im sure you are not searching on internet all is here

how you can explain this when im on netduma and active congestion control just the upload change and not download @Netduma Fraser

Ah interesting, are you using PPPoE, VLAN or IPv6 by any chance? If so that's probably why, if you have the ISP modem/router handle that instead then QoS would work better.

I just successfully tested OpenWrt v23.05.3  on a spare XR500 that I keep should my primary router expire.

OpenWrt is very easy to install if your follow the openwrt.org  instructions, eg:

To connect FTTP to your ISP,  select your WAN port and enable PPPoE, add your ISP userid & password ====>>    finished.

Wyd say it’s clearly possible to get back to firmware DumaOS with tftpd

@Shunk i am honestly gonna give open wrt a try. I am that dumb when it comes to specific's especially if i duck up, then ill brick my xr500 and i do not have a spare 500 but am going to be testing on my asus, cause ya know , why now brick that .

curious, whats your primary router?

My primary router is a Fritz!Box 7590, off the four LAN ports are two XR700 (each configured as "access points") and two 16-port Netgear switches.

Obviously; I have chosen not to use the features of DUMAOS in my configurations.  The spare XR500 was bought from the 'bay' for a very reduced price, and is now configured as a warm-standby should I need to swap it into my network.

As a former enterprise network engineer, I approach the RAS of my domestic network different to many.
