Netduma R3 RGB not working properly

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon! This morning I noticed the RGB on my new R3 was off. Rebooted it and it turned back on but, it stopped working again after a few minutes. I can't turn it back on unless I reboot. Tried a few times and it always turns off by itself  4-5 minutes after a reboot. I tried turning off dynamic game lightning and it didn't do anything. I could do a factory reset later but, i'm curious to know what could be causing that and if it's fixable without doing a factory reset.

If you change the lighting mode/color to something different does the same thing happen?

Yes, I tried changing to different modes and colors and nothing works

Do you have it connected to a power extender or direct to an outlet? If an extender please try direct to an outlet. Otherwise do you have another power adapter you could try with? It might be it's not getting proper power to keep those lights on.

It's plugged into my power bar. I will try directly into the wall and try withba different adapter as well soon. If that doesn't work I'll simply do a Factory reset later and report back. I also have a completely different question, I'm currently using a crappy 2 in 1 modem from my ISP that uses a Puma 7 chipset and it's definitely not ideal so I'm looking to get my own modem. The ISP locks you to their modem but from what I've seen, it seems to only be MAC adress locked. If I buy my own modem and clone the MAC adress to the new modem, would that work in theory?

Okay great keep us posted! IF that is the only way they check to make sure you're using their modem then yes in theory it should work

The Factory reset worked, the RGB is working properly now. For the modem, I will give it a try, the hard part is finding a decent docsis 3.1 modem that supports MAC mirroring, if you have any recommendations let me know 🙂
