Is it possible to set the R3 as a secondary router via Bridge mode or use it as an access point?

Recommended Posts

I use a Google Wifi router which serves as my primary router. I've used an ethernet cable to connect this router to the Netduma R3 as a secondary router and from there use the 4 LAN ports to connect to other devices that I game on etc.

The speeds from the Google Wifi Router are varying in certain areas of my home, but in those same locations the speeds from the R3 are superior. Does this simply mean the R3 has superior range but still acts as the secondary router? I'm trying to optimize the speeds in different areas of my house by also using a TP-Link repeater but introducing that reduces my speeds drastically and as such I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if there's interference between both these routers that's hampering speeds

There further away from a router generally the less speed/strength/range you will have - if the R3 is basically next to the G Router then it's better hardware, if it's a little further away it could be better hardware or more placement. It's hard to advise without knowing the physical layout of the home

Thanks for the response. The R3 is right next to the G router, and well in this context there's only 1 room with slow speeds which is about 10-12 feet away. What's interesting is that the corner of this room which is separated by a wall to the other room where the routers are give me way better speeds but the heart of the room gives me slower speeds lol

Just to be sure, would there be any interference, or any issues caused by using an ethernet cable to connect the G router (primary) to my R3?
