khola Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 Player is randomly skipping (Gameplay hitching), I'm not getting any in game packet loss or errors while playing MW3. Friends voice chat in PS5 party is also lagging, not sure how to troubleshoot this issue and I want to avoid rebooting router everyday.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 10, 2024 Administrators Posted March 10, 2024 That's not really what the logs are for/reflect, what is your ping to the game? Was it fluctuating/spiking at all?
khola Posted March 10, 2024 Author Posted March 10, 2024 Ping stays consistent 30 - 35, issue is player is lagging or skipping. Typically when this happens you would notice a huge ping spike or packet loss but this is not the case here at all
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 11, 2024 Administrators Posted March 11, 2024 Could be the specific server you were playing on experiencing high load, if you force another, even slightly further away do you get the same issue?
khola Posted March 11, 2024 Author Posted March 11, 2024 Yeah, seems to be consistent. Rebooting router makes it go away for a few matches but it comes back after, never had this issue on the XR1000.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 11, 2024 Administrators Posted March 11, 2024 Do try the above but also how do you have Congestion Control/SmartBOOST set?
khola Posted March 14, 2024 Author Posted March 14, 2024 Unfortunately this does not help at all, I have the console setup as the only device with the highest priority following your video tutorials on YouTube.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 14, 2024 Administrators Posted March 14, 2024 What about Congestion Control as that's a big part of keeping lag in check
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 16, 2024 Administrators Posted March 16, 2024 70% is our recommended starting point but it's by no means necessarily the best value for everyone/setup. Have a look at this guide while doing downloads to saturate your connection https://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000074717-how-to-test-your-internet-ping disable Speed Test Bypass also. Start with a high value for Congestion Control, say 95% then do a test, decrease by 10%, test, decrease by 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good and then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. It's important to note that Download & Upload on Congestion Control don't have to be the same value and that you may have a better experience with differing values. What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode
khola Posted March 16, 2024 Author Posted March 16, 2024 I have tested multiple values already, with upload and download all the way down to 35%. Modem is Technicolor CGM4331 set in bridge mode, modem doesn't have an option to add R3 in its DMZ since the modem is bridged and being used only as a modem.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 16, 2024 Administrators Posted March 16, 2024 I've responded to your email, we can continue there
