carmine19
I think I found a bug, I was able to reproduce it several times. I tried to transfer the files over the network from my PC to my rog ally via the Steam client file transfer, the bug that appears is that in game the ping goes up as if there was bufferbloat, so I tried to stop the transmission of data locally and the ping went back to normal, if I reactivated it the ping was very high, firmware 0.41, beyond this the transfer was very slow, maximum 60mb, with the fritxbox I stood at around 200mb, the PC is connected to the rog with a LAN cable ally with wifi. Nothing of all this is displayed in smartQos, not even in network monitor.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 3 Administrators Share Posted February 3 You mention the in game ping goes up, are you playing on the rog or the PC that is sending/receiving the traffic? If so then I would expect that to happen
carmine19
Hi @Netduma Fraser, I'm playing on the pc(pc1) that sends the traffic and not the one that receives it. Example: pc1->Host with steam and game installed RogAlly->client that receives the game from pc1
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 3 Administrators Share Posted February 3 That makes sense, the PC is passing traffic over the network as well as playing a game using the internet so that's a lot of traffic for one device. Make sure just the game is prioritized and it should be better.
carmine19
Yes, the game has priority but nothing changes, the delay is very high, is it normal that I don't see the local traffic that the device is doing in the qos?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 4 Administrators Share Posted February 4 How do you have Congestion Control set? That's normal I believe, on Network Activity though if you go to the settings and show router traffic it might show up that way
