Ping assist graph absent

the ping graph.  It attempts to load and always says "couldn't ping server"

this was one of the main things that was advertised about this router and it doesn't work for Call of Duty, the game that needs this more than any other.  It works in fortnite.

Do you mean a ping graph? Ping Assist is a way of filtering. Does the graph attempt to load at all?

its the ping graph that doesn't come up ever, it attempts and then just says "couldn't ping server".

Another thing that is really frustrating is that the server in Seattle says that it should have ping of 35-40 in the ping heat map.  Most every time I play on that server it is in the 90-110 ping.  That is the closest server to me.  What is going on here?!

If it says couldn't ping server then that is legitimate, whatever the reason may be but it definitely does work. Are you playing on PC? If so remove it from the Geo-Filter, in Device Manager give the PC a PlayStation icon then re-add it back to the Geo-Filter and reboot the PC, then see if it pings more consistently.

The 90-110 ping is that in game or on the Geo-Filter?

C'mon!  if the ping graph never works how could I be seeing ping in the geo-filter? :)  obviously its in the game

Yes, I am on PC, but if I am on PC and adding it as a Playstation worked, why not just fix the UI?  You have been suggesting add a PC as a Playstation for years.  What is up with this?

well, I tried exactly as you said and it still doesn't work.  This is so frustrating to buy something and have it not do what it was advertised that it would do.

you say that "it definitely does work".  You you even own an R3?  You say it works and then tell me try this, and it doesn't work.  Then you say try this, and that doesn't work.  It has NEVER worked.  Is there any other other people there at net duma who can explain how to make this router work?  I have my gaming PC which is showing the duma os interface on one monitor while I try to run Call of duty on the other monitor.  In the geofilter tab, the graph has NEVER ( I have to type in all caps because Fraser doesn't seem to understand that it has NEVER worked) worked.  I have tried to disable the geolatency.  I have tried it with the geolatency on.  I have tried with the PC set up in the device manager as a playstation and that didn't work either.  I have the ipv6 turned off for both WAN and LAN.  I am on the v4.0.23

Anyone actually have an R3 and can explain how to make it work as advertised?

The ping graph works for me 90% of the time. Rarely does it fail. But I'm on PS5, haven't tried it on PC.

What is the ISP modem/router model the R3 is connected to and how is that setup to provide a direct line to the internet, modem/bridge/DMZ? Have you made any custom port forwarding rules? Do you play any other games with the Geo-Filter and if so does the ping for those servers populate at all?

Can I answer this? @Netduma Fraser Since I've the same issues. And for personal reasons missed the deadline to return and refund so.. I'm forced to use it or sometimes XR 500 :)

- ISP Router Huawei hg8245w (bridge mode)>R3 (Tried DMZ and same results. For me DMZ makes it worse)

- No port forwarding or UPnP

- No other games. Using geo filter. Only MW3

Servers not pinging (Spain, Italy, Amsterdam and Saudi) non pings. Only once I saw it connected to US server while I was playing with a friend.

Sure! Does that mean that other servers ping normally, just not those 4?

I played only once in US server. Reset of the servers never pings.

While XR is pining every and any server.

Thanks.

What device are you playing on exactly and what are your Geo-Filter settings? If you manually ping instead of letting it auto ping do you have better success?

First wanted to apologize, I have expressed how irritated this router has made me at times because it doesn't work quite as well as advertised.  For as bumpy as the launch has been, I do think it is on the cutting edge and I am exited about it achieving the claims made about it.  Maybe that's why it irritates me so much because I have high expectations.

My device is a gaming PC.  Programs usually running are discord, a chrome browser with the duma os interface on the monitor and call of duty running and displaying on the second monitor.

How would I manual ping the server?  I am not the best in life, if you can give me clear steps I will try this out and get back to you.

PS5 - and changed it to PC and still can't ping in game. In both as Playstation or PC not pinging.

Ping manually on ping heat map works.

But the fluctuation of ping is so annoying (which my connection is stable and this issue is only with R3)

Use ping heat map and choose the server that you always connects to. Should give you something like my screenshot in previous post.

I feel you broo 😂

On the Geo-Filter the host of the game is the icon with the controller within it, click that when you're in a game, it will then manually ping (rather than automatically ping where the Geo-Filter pings it for you)

Not pinging in any waaaaays. And as you can see when pinging the server you can see how it's jumps. More than welcome to join a session and show you all the amazing features at once live.

Oh, yeah, I have done this before, both when its in filtering mode and when its just in "observing" mode.  But each time the result is the same as when it auto pings it..... nothing or at best tells me that it "can't ping server"......  I am ever the optimist though, so later today after my obligations in life, I will load up the software that I am paying to beta test (I hope at the very least net duma sends me a nice thank you card when Christmas comes around cause I spent my Christmas money on being an unpaid and underappreciated beta tester for a router that was advertised as having functioning software.... we truly live in a crazy world!!!!)  I'll let let you know later Fraser what I see.  Imagine if Fraser comes clean people and tells us that he is not paid to work in this forum, but he has the Duma OS disease that we all seem to have (waiting hoping for a gaming router that actually works) but he as it worse than any other person and actually pays Net Duma to allow him to work overtime moderating a forum where everyone is frustrated...... Imagine

I do have a theory, could you try forcing servers much further away from you, EU if you're in the US and vice versa and see whether you get more consistency in pinging please?

@Netduma FraserPinged Some severs in EU and some not. But the game literally unplayable on those server while my ping 120+

Yeah I know, it's just as a test for pinging, out of 10 games for example how many pinged vs didn't?
