“Unknown” activity taking precedence over gaming.

I’ve felt that my hit detection has been off lately in FPS games. When I logged into the dumaOS UI and went into smartboost, I noticed an “Unknown” activity listed on there taking most of the bandwidth. Could that be my problem, and if so, how can I fix it. I’ve attached a picture.

It shouldnt be causing you any issues because it not being put in high priority..

When do you notice this Unknown activity popin up?

You can go into Stats for Nerds in Smart Boost to see more about this type of activity..

There will be IP addresses and ports this type of Unknown activity is using.. What ports are you seeing?

A screenshot of this would help in this.

I will attach an example of what you will see.. This is just an example!

Thanks!

Btw I just noticed that in your screenshot that your COD is not in a high priority..

What do you have added to your priorities?

Make sure you have gaming or COD added to your priorities!

A screenshot of this as well may help understand what you have.

After looking at the stats for nerds I see the unknown activity has the PS5 listed as device. I also notice it says Amazon on there with my PS5 listed on there as well, however, I am not using the Amazon application on it. Has that happened to you?

I just added gaming as a priority.  I had it on before but when I was performing bufferbloat tests I kept getting a B. It wasn’t until I removed the gaming from priority that I got an A.

I play on the Xbox.. Usually most of my Activity shows MS.. I dont believe seeing Amazon on there is an issue.. But looking at your screenshot it shows that you currently dont have COD put in your high priorities..

Smart Boost will show all traffic.. Whats important is when its pickup as High Priority.. It will appear on the left part of your circle..

What do you currently have set for your Priorities?

I will attach an example bellow..

Thanks!

Add everything back the way you had it.. So add gaming back and see if it prioritizes that again..

Gaming bypasses all CC/BufferBloat settings.. Thats normal..

Where are you testing your BB?

If you have further issues or questions post back for further help.

Thanks!

My ISP speeds are a gig  download and 240 upload, however, I have to really throttle the download down to 230 to get an A+ on bufferbloat.

I tested my BB on waveform and PingPlotter.

Okay.. I use Waveform as well... Just make sure when your doing your BB tests that you set your CC to Always.. And then toggle  Speed Test Bypass..

Go to Ping Optimizer advance settings for this.. You will see it there..

Then adjust your sliders accordingly to your results like on Waveform..

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

Heres a screenshot for an example..

This is just an example.. Do not set yours like mine..lol..

Appreciate it. R3 is a great router and with some new firmware updates I’m sure it will perform better than any router I’ve ever owned.

What do you mean adding cod to your priorities? Or are you referring to having gaming as a top priority? I’ve not seen an option to add just cod on there.

If you go to smart boost and hit the add on the top right you’ll see a list show up. Scroll right till you can see gaming, and under that you’ll see the call of duty series

Its a nice feature.. When selecting "Gaming" that covers a wider range of games.. When selecting a game specifically it targets just that game selected..  👍

Thanks!
