I noticed that someone has revisited this topic. I want to share some new findings. I experienced this issue once again one week ago. It seems to be time-based. It occurred after 7 pm CET, and although I don't remember which day of the week, everything started working again after midnight, between 12 am and 1 am CET.

99% of the time, the authentication server is not explicitly displayed on the geo-filter map. However, if it is explicitly shown, it typically happens within a specific timeframe, disrupting the geo-filter.

An authentication server wouldn't affect the quality of the game/the ability to find games, it just lets the game know that you're online, you have a legit copy of the game etc

This would make sense as around 6/7pm UK time is when I start to experience the issue, before that time I'm able to geofilter to any region such as US or Saudi and get into lobbies with no issues whatsoever, during the evenings however it allows that authentication server to bypass my geofilter selection even when I have tried to block that particular server. So in the evenings I just cannot use the geofilter at all as it starts trying to put me into local servers.

Could it be a misconfigured server on Duma's end that is somehow slipping through the filters? I'm skeptical that it functions as a genuine authenticator server because when I employ geofiltering to the US before 6 pm, the search consistently begins with a ping of less than 90ms. However, after 6 pm, the ping drops to less than 16ms, and that's when the geofilter seems to lose its effectiveness. It appears that Call of Duty attempts to place me in local servers, bypassing the geofilter restriction. Despite the geofilter preventing connections to German, French, Amsterdam, etc., servers, the system persists in attempting to connect me to these lobbies. Strangely, if it's a UK lobby, the connection is established, despite being against my geofilter restriction. This observation raises the possibility of a Duma-related issue, allowing a UK game server to function as an authenticator server.

Yes, indeed. That's why 99% of the time, the authentication server is not even displayed on the geo-filter map. I wasn't aware there was always an authentication server. However, as my previous screenshots have shown, the authentication server can sometimes be displayed on the map. I still don't know what triggers this behavior, perhaps the game itself is bugged and mistakenly assumes that a connection to the London authentication server means the user can also be placed into London game servers. Based on my observations, things seem to return to normal after midnight CET.

Yes, this was exactly what happened to me. Not very often, but it does happen.

If it occurs, I have to either play with UK servers or stop using the geofilter for that evening (CET). It always returns to normal the next day. Weird issue, isn’t it? 😅

It's likely that in the evenings/during peak times the game is trying to keep everyone more to their region, as more people are online the servers become more under load, adding high ping to that would result in a bad experience. Over the last few days it has occurred to me that it may be using a relay server which could be causing games to appear outside the radius. I'll have to have the team look into it.

Yeah it's unfortunate because I tend to play mostly during those evenings with my friends, but yeah if you could keep us updated that would be great, thanks
