ping issues

since day one i have not been able to get my ping stabilizer to run a successful test.

significantly higher ping values with steady ping off, smartboost off, and have tweaked the congestion controls all over the place. This wouldn't be an issue if it were just a visual issue of a higher number, but i play cod in a competitive scene and for money in some cases and this has been a serious deterrent for me to even attempt playing any sort of wager due to the Hit Registration feeling sluggish/delayed, and even sometimes lag spikes that i have never experienced before on the same server. i do understand this could still be server side.

sidebar that i am not even remotely worried about is my speedtest since i plugged the R3 in has not reflected my bandwidth i am currently subscribed to. i do have the fortunate scenario that i work on the Plant side of my ISP, so i can confidently say that this is not an issue coming from beyond my walls. The results i am seeing are from OOKLA since this is the only speedtest i have used for any situation and i use my ISPs dedicated server so i know that i should be getting my speeds. i would use the one on the router itself but that also will not work for me.

is it possible to get this firmware i am seeing everyone ask for?

We are aware Ping Optimizer/Speed Test isn't 100% reliable at the moment and it's something the team will work on when they're back from the holidays. Those features can still work, it just may not be every time. Where are you measuring the ping exactly? How big are the spikes? What Congestion Control settings are you using currently? What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode.

What speeds do you pay for/expect and what are you seeing with a wired test to Ookla?
