Cannot log into DumaOS from Mac or IOS

Hi there,

NetDuma R3 is set up and working fine in terms of internet connectivity. However, can't log into the DumaOS, either from IOS or Mac. On Mac, trying to use the IP address http://192.168.77.1/, which times out (screenshot below). Then on IOS, trying to scan the code on the bottom of router doesn't work (says it can't find the network/router), and same for trying to set up manually.

I can't connect via ethernet as my laptop doesn't have ethernet port...

Any thoughts?

UPDATE - also tried http://dumaos/ and this didn't work either

Do you have a VPN on? I had this only on my Iphone when I was connected to Nord seemed like the DNS didn't want to respond. Anyway I turned it off and it connected. Then turned VPN on and it connected. So not sure if you might have a similar issue or not?

Almost seems like it's not connected to the new router you don't have an old router still broadcasting with the same name do you?

The internet won't work without completing the Setup Wizard which you need to be able to access the interface to complete. Hold the reset button in the back of the router (you'll need something thin like a pin) for 30 seconds, release, wait 4 minutes then try accessing and see if that works please.

Yes I’m aware, I’ve tried all of these things. Nothing is working. There clearly is a an issue with how my ISP’s router is working with the r3.

The R3 is an independent device, it doesn't need internet to be able to connect to the interface. Are you able to connect not with internet but just to the WiFi of the R3?

Yes. But then can’t get into interface. Regardless of using ip or link or whatever… It just either gives the page not found, or brings me to my ISP’s router Interface, depending on which method I use.

Could you unplug the R3 from the modem so that the R3 is just connected to power, then while connected to the R3 WiFi try accessing the interface then, does that work?

If not could you check on the phone/mac what IP address your device is getting while connected to that WiFi please?

Ok will try this. Separately, Should I be plugging the Ethernet from my sky router into the r3 or should I be plugging the Ethernet from the modem directly into the r3? I’ve tried both, but wondering which is the correct set up…

I'd suggest at the moment if we can get you access to connect it to the Sky Hub as there may be credentials/specific settings needed to get internet direct from the modem. So setting up with the Sky hub will have it handle any of that and allow you to use the R3 while you check if that is the case.

Thanks Gus. I did some digging and it seems my Sky router cannot be set up in bridge mode. "Simply can't" was the quote on their forums... Am I finished then?

Sorry I couldn’t help any further, is there a way to use your own equipment, i.e. modem or is it fiber?  I don’t know how isp’s are setup over there but it sounds like the equipment is proprietary and if so you may be limited on what you can do or access.

I found this on the Sky website:

5. I already have a router, can I use the same one when I join Sky?

When you join Sky, you will be sent a new compatible Sky Hub, which allows you to check your speeds and connected devices online or through the My Sky app.

It also allows our tech team to carry out checks if there are any problems with your service

Hi @Netduma Fraser, I've managed to get into the router interface using the method you suggested. Where do I go from here? Are there specific settings I need to input? Thanks!

Great to hear that! I'd leave it in this configuration for now while its working and enjoy having a look at the features and try gaming with it!

If you're looking for some extra insight one of our beta users made a setup guide:

@Netduma FraserNo, I think you misunderstand. There is no internet coming from the Netduma at all… I’m only able to get into the interface…
