GoloLolo
Hello Got my new NetdumaR3 yesterday. tried to set it up yesterday night but getting problems. I have an Openreach BT Modem. My R3 is connected to my modem. All lights working on modem when switched on. I noticed when I power on my Netduma R3 all lights are working on the router except the internet light is not switched ON. Supposed to be showing white colour on the router right for internet? or am I missing something? Second part I can go through setup wizard but it says no internet found. i click on advanced WAN settings. click on PPPOE and type in my username and password and it says invalid. I am with BT and the log in normally works with NetdumaR2. Had no problems with this on R2. So I skip this part and try to complete rest of setup wizard. Finished the setup wizard until loading screen that says “Welcome to DumaOS4” loading circle that is endless. went back to my old Netduma R2 as cannot setup the new R3. Frustrating. any help would be appreciated thanks Edited December 16, 2023 by GoloLolo
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 16, 2023 Administrators Share Posted December 16, 2023 Hello, sorry to hear you're having this issue. I have sent you a private message that will get you into the main interface. Once you're in the main interface you can enter your PPPoE details which will be accepted there. Then reboot the router and you should get internet, the internet light on the R3 will then appear. We do have a firmware fix for the issue you have received which will be being pushed to routers over a period of days, alternatively I can provide you with the firmware so you can upgrade to it manually after you've got the issues sorted. GoloLolo
Thank you Fraser for the response. i will try your solution after 11p.m. UK time as my whole family is using the internet right now. By then everyone will be asleep and then i can try your solution. Can you please send me the firmware as you mentioned so i can upgrade manually after i sort the issue out hopefully. thanks. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 16, 2023 Administrators Share Posted December 16, 2023 Okay great, let us know how you get on! I have sent the firmware via private message
GoloLolo
Thank you Fraser. I can confirm what you instructed me to do has worked. I also upgraded firmware and had to factory reset and restart router for it to work. Internet light came on. as a bonus I didn’t have to enter PPPOE with R3 because it detected internet automatically. Nice. with netduma r2 and xr700 had to enter PPPOE. thank you very much for the quick help and response.

Sabrewing
Will all new users have a similar issue, who are likely to receive the R3 in next few days who use PPPOE to connect. Due to the fact, they don't have the fix? How best to connect the R3, if you already have Internet access from an XR1000 configured for PPPOE to force a firmware update on the R3 and subsequently use it, as your main router? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 17, 2023 Administrators Share Posted December 17, 2023 Newer routers are being shipped with the firmware fix so they shouldn't experience the same issue thankfully. Yes you could do that, have another router upstream to handle PPPoE, complete the Setup Wizard then once through take the upstream router out and enter PPPoE in the R3 Settings
