Nat Moderate?

If it's the R2 that the devices are getting an IP from then it shouldn't cause a NAT issue. Make sure the WAN IP of the R2 (found on the System Information page) is in the DMZ on your ISP modem/router (if applicable) and you should be good

ok so I don't have any DMZ settings when using AP mode. And Im still stuck on moderate Nat type. I don't know why it's not Open!

I've tried setting a static IP and Reserving DHCP with no effects

My current setup is running the Asus/AI.mesh as the router/host with the R2 and PS5 conneted downstream, using DMZ on the Asus porting the R2's IP address. This has the Geo fencing working but still giving me a moderate Nat type. Idk any ideas.

Most likely but that's what the R2 in the DMZ of the upstream router should resolve, was it the WAN IP you entered in?

Unlikely as that would prevent the use of the features which is the point of having the R2 over other routers but it's not a definite no!

Ya I entered the R2's Wan IP address, is there anything else I'm missing?

So just to clarify, there is one Asus router upstream that is part of a mesh of Asus routers and an R2 connected to it, is there any other routers/modem such as from the ISP?

so I'm pretty sure it's a double Nat issue but it goes: ISP/modem > ASUS/Router > Ai-Mesh1 > Ai-Mesh2 > NetdumaR2 > PS5/PC

Its a crazy setup I know. 🥲

Right okay so is your Asus router in the DMZ on your ISP modem and R2 in the DMZ on your Asus router?

The mesh routers I assume just act like WiFi extenders, they don't give the R2 an IP address, the R2 WAN IP comes from the Asus router is that right?

yes.

That is correct as far as I understand.

could I setup a IPv6 firewall with the R2 set as Allowed, therefore bypassing the Nat???

It could still be the Geo-Filter causing the misreading perhaps - you may need to reboot the gaming device to double check.

Otherwise in theory that could work, first try connecting the R2 directly to the Asus if possible and see if it is open then.

So I managed to get the Nat Type to Open idk how but it's working.

I am using a 5G router as my ISP. Is there any way I can get open or moderate NAT?

Do you have an Open NAT when you're directly connected to the 5G router without the R2? If you can't then no you won't be able to unfortunately

Unfortunately strict NAT when connected directly. However it switches to moderate, when I use a VPN... I cant tell how this is possible.

That can happen but you won't be able to get Open even with a VPN unfortunately
