SomethingStoney Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 Hi there I have been having an issue over the past few weeks whereby I am getting region blocked from apps such as Disney+ and NBA. I am located in the UK and have never had this issue before. I believe I've had my device for a year or so now. I am not using a VPN and have factory reset my device and am still experiencing the same issue. In addition, I don't feel like I have fully optimised use of my device over the past year, are you able to provide any links for getting the set up right? Thank you.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 9, 2023 Administrators Posted November 9, 2023 What do you mean you're region blocked? Streaming services do usually only show you what is available in that country and you can only circumvent it by using a VPN. Have a look at our optimal settings guides here: https://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/folders/16000090646
SomethingStoney Posted November 9, 2023 Author Posted November 9, 2023 Hi Fraser, thanks for getting back to me. What I mean is when accessing disney+ for example it appears with an error message saying it is not available in my region, and will not let me connect. Or with NBA league pass for example it gives me the same message stating it is not available in my region.
SomethingStoney Posted November 9, 2023 Author Posted November 9, 2023 Error code 4-62-7027 out of country blocked on the NBA app
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 9, 2023 Administrators Posted November 9, 2023 Ah understood, best thing to check would be to see if it works when directly connected to your ISP modem/router. If it is region blocking then it would be an IP issue.
SomethingStoney Posted November 9, 2023 Author Posted November 9, 2023 Hi Fraser, I have tried that and it does work, it's only when connected to my Netduma that I experience the issue. How would I resolve the IP issue?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 9, 2023 Administrators Posted November 9, 2023 It may be the Adblocker, if you disable that does it connect properly?
SomethingStoney Posted November 9, 2023 Author Posted November 9, 2023 disabled the adblocker and still have the same issue. Would you recommend a reset of the router after disabling?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 9, 2023 Administrators Posted November 9, 2023 No that's not needed, is the Geo-Filter enabled for the device you're having trouble with? Disable QoS fully from the Congestion Control menu and try again
SomethingStoney Posted November 9, 2023 Author Posted November 9, 2023 QOS fully disabled, still no luck. Stupid question how do I disable the geo filter?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 9, 2023 Administrators Posted November 9, 2023 Just delete the device or toggle filtering mode off
SomethingStoney Posted November 9, 2023 Author Posted November 9, 2023 Yeah it's not that either. Geo-filter hasn't been turned on and neither has filtering mode
SomethingStoney Posted November 9, 2023 Author Posted November 9, 2023 Also sorry I should have said I've tried on my computer, phone, firestick and smart tv and it's the same issue across the board
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 10, 2023 Administrators Posted November 10, 2023 Could you make the issue happen again then get the logs from the System Information page please?
