HeathPitt
Hey. I've optimised my download ping, and it's only 15-20ish, and my idle ping. However, my upload ping is stupidly high whenever I go to Ookla Speedtest. I'm talking 300ms+. Is there a way to automatically congestion control my upload ping? Is there a certain percent that fixes this? What do I do? -Heath
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 29, 2023 Administrators Share Posted October 29, 2023 What do you have upload Congestion Control set to? There isn't a specific percentage it should be set to, we recommend starting at 70% and then working from there to see which value works the best
HeathPitt
I had it set to 81%, as that's what my download was optimised to. Setting it to 70% ruined it more
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 31, 2023 Administrators Share Posted October 31, 2023 Don't worry about the Auto Setup aspect, QoS needs to be fine tuned some more. Start with a high value for Congestion Control, say 95% then do a test, decrease by 10%, test, decrease by 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good and then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved.
HeathPitt
I set it to intervals, and the ping got worse the closer to 50% it got this is it at 50% upload and surprisingly at 100% it had tamed down a little bit as you can see not sure what's happening, help would be appreciated -Heath
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 2, 2023 Administrators Share Posted November 2, 2023 That is very strange, if you disable Game Optimiser and then do a speedtest.net test what results do you get for the upload ping?
HeathPitt
After disabling, I get very similar results to 100% in upload ping
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 3, 2023 Administrators Share Posted November 3, 2023 Okay that will be to do with your line/modem then, I would highly recommend you contact Telstra so they can look into it.
