kamilradom1910
Hi all. Im ordered Netduma R2. I should receive it tomorrow. I got Virgin Media 1000/100.Right now im using 2x Asus AC86U. One is connected to Hub 4 (modem mode). 2nd Asus is connected wired to first one (mesh). I still wanna using that setup because I got very well wifi coverage in my house and good speeds. I bought R2 because i wanna try geo location. My question is. How should i connect R2 to my existing setup. Should i connect it to first Asus? Or Hub 4? I think my asus are better routers with better speeds, than in my opinion netduma R2 should be connected to Asus. To Netduma only will be connected my PS5 and PC. Im switch off wifi on r2. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 12, 2023 Administrators Share Posted October 12, 2023 If you are only interested in the Geo-Filter and you don't care about QoS then you can connect it to the Asus. If you care about the QoS then you should connect it to the Hub 4 otherwise the R2 can't control the network effectively.
kamilradom1910
Ok. I connect to Hub4. Hub 4 should be in modem mode? And about Asus connected to Netduma. Should be DMZ or just UPNP. To Asus will be connected all other devices in my home. Netduma only ps5 and pc.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 12, 2023 Administrators Share Posted October 12, 2023 Yes modem mode would be the best. You don't need to put the Asus in the R2 DMZ as your gaming devices are connecting direct to the R2. kamilradom1910
