Hello guys, is it important to have a modem? I connected my R2 to a modem router and on the internet they saying it's not good because of the double NAT issue with gaming. Is it worth changing to a pure modem?

You don't have to buy a modem, you can just put the R2 WAN IP (found on the System Information page) into the DMZ feature on your modem/router and that will prevent the double NAT.

Hi Fraser, unfortunately there is no DMZ with the Fritzbox. Exposed host is also not the solution, I tested the whole thing with the tracert command under Windows and the first two values show the IPs of the R2 and the Fritzbox, which indicates Double NAT.

Seeing the two IPs isn't necessarily an indication of a double NAT, you will see that regardless because you're using two routers. Using the exposed host option will get rid of the double NAT, you can then check your NAT status on a game/console to verify this.
