R1 receiving full speed but slow downloads

I suspect faulty hardware. Connection benchmark returns 200/30 (full duplex 1Gb), but speedtest.net tops out around 30 on download? Upload and ping are unaffected, QoS disabled. I've done a factory reset and a few reboots, but whatever settings I use I can't fix it. The R1's wired directly to my ONT and ethernet makes no difference.

I don't know what Service refers to under PPPoE, but my ISP says they don't require it. MAC address cloning autoconfigures to the R1 itself. I've disabled IPv6, port scan and syn flood but no improvement. UPnP on/off doesn't change anything. I've tried both upstream DNS and my ISP's.

Any thoughts?

Downgrading to 1.03.6j improves my download slightly to 40, which ethernet now doubles to 80. This firmware's way more responsive than DumaOS, but of course it's old and still not forwarding my correct speed.

RB951G-2HnD is the only MikroTik hardware version?

Hello, welcome to the forum!

Were you previously receiving higher speeds? If so when did this start to occur, after changing settings, rebooting, resetting, upgrading etc.

Yes that is the MicroTik hardware model.

Hi Fraser, I previously achieved my full 55Mb over wired FTTC (this is a new FTTP line). Wireless was typically in the 40s, but 2.4GHz is quite congested here and the R1's never had the best range. I run my consoles wired so that was never a problem.

Tried another PC today and several cables in all ports, but no joy. I think I'll just get a new router, but it's a curious thing. I downgraded to 1.03.6j and then reflashed 3.0.207. It seems like a traffic-shaping bug so I reenabled QoS and set my laptop to 100% (with dedicated IP). I'm seeing 1Gb in and out on the table and my full speed under connection benchmark, but the speeds I'm getting are consistently 1/6th max.
