iTzSayMyName
So i have been using the Netduma R2 for a while now (2 years) and so far i have been verry happy with it. I decided that i wanted to use the guest wifi setting so that people who visit me can scan a QR code on my Home assistant tablet and use the guest wifi. Now i have been testing the guest wifi before actually letting my guests use it and i have noticed that when a device is connected to the guest wifi they dont appear online in the Device Manager tab. I tested this with multiple devices and any device that is connected to the guest wifi just doesnt show as online only offline. Is this suppose to be this way? Netduma Liam
Thanks for reporting this, what devices have you been testing with? Do you know if they use private addresses/MAC randomisation? iPhones for example do this and it prevents them from being recognised properly in DumaOS. I wonder if it's something to with this. iTzSayMyName
I have been testing this with my iphone and tablet. i have also been testing this with Private Wi-Fi Address on and off in the wifi settings on these devices and it doesnt matter what setting i use for these devices they will still appear in the offline list in the device manager tab. With the Private Wi-Fi Address setting ON, it shows up as unnamed device in the offline section of devices in the network and with the Private Wi-Fi Address setting OFF, it shows up with the name of the device in the offline section of devices in the network. So no matter what setting i choose it keeps showing up as offline
