CloudAE
Hi, I'm Runing 4 CS:GO servers under the name of { Dubai-Gamerz }. and i had DDoS Attacks issue before buying Netduma R1. anyways, My internet connection speed is 100/20 mbps ( Fiber-optic ) around $368 Month with my ISP however after installing the Netduma R1 i couldnt get the 80mbps but thats not the problem i have. i want to change the Network map from ISP modem > Netduma R1 | > Port5 NetGear Nighthawk x6 | V Port2 Server To ISP modem > Nighthawk x6 > Netduma R1 > Server or ISP Modem > NetDuma R1 (act as Firewall) > NightHawk x6 > Port 2 server but if i did that i wont see my Servers on Dedicated Servers List i would hit by DDoS Attacks and No one will connect or see it NightHawk x6 has DoS Protection but i did not see it work once. i got hits that i couldn't Surf the Web. Thank you.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 31, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 31, 2015 Hey so what I would recommend is to take out the nighthawk, do modem > R1 > server or modem > R1 > nighthawk and you should still be able to see the server on the R1. Then get a VPN and on our VPN feature apply the VPN to your server and then put through the exception for steam based games, this means your server will be protected but the game itself will be smooth with no ping increase caused by the VPN. That should resolve your issue.
CloudAE
Oh hi. i appreciate your help but If i take out Nighthawk x6 ( WiFi ) it will limit my internet connection because im not the only one need to connect to the internet ISP Modem > R1 (Firewall) > (Router+WiFi) > other Device's my problem is where do i put the server in this mess but Thanks to you i would remove the NightHawk and put some WiFi extender that wont take too much speed from R1 and Connect the Server to Netduma R1 Thank you
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 31, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 31, 2015 You can take out the nighthawk because our congestion control will help with preventing other devices from causing any lag. Our wifi is quite strong but not as strong as the nighthawk. If you do modem > r1 > nighthawk/wifi extender > other devices you could connect the server to R1 directly or the nighthawk if you prefer, the R1 will still detect it as a device so you can do the VPN like i said above, hope that helps!
