axelgaminguk Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Hi All, This may end up being an easy fix and it may be pretty simple.. I think there must be a step I am missing! My current setup is as follows ONT >> XR700 >> EERO XR700 - 4 x gaming PC's and Eero's main hub connected. EERO - all wifi devices are connected to the eero due to mesh ability I currently have 4 devices. My two questions are as follow 1) Will putting the EERO in bridge mode be better? For gaming or having the EERO's set as just one device will that be better? Or is that what they call double NATTING. 2) I tried to put my eero in bridge mode via the app, they went into bridge mode BUT most of my wifi devices then couldnt find the EERO's I was told to make sure my XR700 in LAN is DHCP I have Use Router as DHCP Server ticked. Do i need to add my EERO as a address reservation? or should this work. Because it doesn't Cheers all in advance! Hopefully its an easy fix and i'm just missing a simple step!
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 13, 2023 Administrators Posted January 13, 2023 Hey, welcome to the forum! You don't want to be putting the Eero in bridge as it won't work, best to leave it at the default configuration in my opinion!
axelgaminguk Posted January 13, 2023 Author Posted January 13, 2023 Ahhh, that makes sense then as to why it didnt work! Have I got something setup wrong or is the image below good? My two thoughts are Jitter - 0.23ms (Should this be 0ms) Ping under load - That spike in the download I have 1000mbps down and 1000mbps up.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 13, 2023 Administrators Posted January 13, 2023 You'll always have some amount of jitter so actually 0.23ms is very good! The spike on Ping Under Load indicates that you need to fine tune your QoS/Congestion Control settings. Once you've done that the spike shouldn't happen/should reduce. axelgaminguk 1
axelgaminguk Posted January 13, 2023 Author Posted January 13, 2023 The ping test under load dosent seem to change no matter what % i set my QoS to, ive tried 100, 90, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40 and tried with Auto Detect and On.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 13, 2023 Administrators Posted January 13, 2023 It has to be set to Always, make sure you're changing download and upload. If that doesn't work then you are on an old beta version so there was a lot of improvement to be made on it and it's very unlikely you'll get that kind of spike with Congestion Control set to 70%
