Joshua3
Hello everyone. I just recently bought the R2 Router and I am not receiving full speeds on it. My ISP gives me 1gbps, and I receive this when I am connected to my modem. However, when I connect to the R2 I do not receive full speeds. I have tried multiple speed test sites, and even the connection benchmark module on the R2. I have attempted to factory reset the router, redo the installation, try different ethernet wires, and nothing is fixing my problem. I have also attempted to disable QoS through the congestion control tab, and it still did not work. I read that the DumaOS comes with built in SQM, and I was wondering if there is a way to disable this, because maybe this is throttling my connection. Right now I am receiving anywhere between 300mbps-800mbps, to be perfectly honest, I do not care about the speeds but I am more concerned about my bufferbloat. This may seem very odd, but I want to increase my bufferbloat to make it similar to what I had when I was using my modem.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 23, 2022 Administrators Share Posted December 23, 2022 Hey, welcome to the forum! We use a different speedtest site to show your speeds on Benchmark and it doesn't always reflect what you get depending on where you are in relation to those servers. What do you get on speedtest.net? Did you disable QoS from the Congestion Control menu which looks like this ? Are ALL devices connected to the R2? What is the model of your modem? Joshua3
Thanks for the welcome! : ) I get 750-910mbps on speed test, for some reason it keeps changing. Yes I did disable QoS from the congestion control menu. Yes, all devices are connected to the R2. My model is Arcadyan NH20A. My modem does not have a manual, or other information online. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 23, 2022 Administrators Share Posted December 23, 2022 It's a hub I think, have you put the R2 in the DMZ, if not please do so and that may boost the speeds a little
Joshua3
I put it in DMZ and it did not help. My upload speed is really low.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 24, 2022 Administrators Share Posted December 24, 2022 Are ALL devices connected to the R2? If not they can pull bandwidth away from the router. What upload speed are you getting on speedtest.net?
Joshua3
yes, all devices are connected to the r2. Usually with QoS off, I can get 770 max, but with Qos on it's usually around 500.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 25, 2022 Administrators Share Posted December 25, 2022 That may be the maximum you'll be able to achieve, disable the protection options in WAN Settings though as that will boost it slightly. If you're not using Adblocker disable that completely as well.
