Hey so I just bought the NetDuma R2 and after setting it up through the set up tour it worked out fine for the first day.

But now everytime I start up the Xbox it won't connect to the internet and tells me that it can't connect to the DHCP server.

I have no network knowledge at all and no idea how to fix this.

There is one error that pops up alot in the R2:

daemon.err hostapd: Failed to set beacon parameters

My modem/router is a FRITZ!Box 7520.

Hi there, I recently setup my netduma r2 router I didn't bother using the fritzbox, I connected directly to the wall ont socket though netduma r2  wan port. I'm guessing your a Digiweb customer with fritzbox ?. In router Netduma r2 Network settings General I left IPV6 on, Allow ping on, port scan protection on ,syn flood protection on, allow remote access to tech off (optional), VLAN: 10, save General.

In Network select PPPoE,  put in user name provided by isp, if its Digiweb its : [email protected] for new siro connection , for FFTH it's : [email protected] - Password is digiweb (lowercase), leave Service blank, I find MTU: 1472 works well. leave use upstream DNS checked to on. save settings. If it doesnt find IP straight away reboot  netduma R2 router and it should sync up and run perfectly. This bypasses need to use Fritzbox as Netduma R2 works 100% on its own. I have it running like this since friday 18/11/2022 in a busy household with Xbox, ps4, firesticks, PC's etc and it runs every thing flawlessly.

Where are you seeing that error you mention? Do you get it after a particular action? Can you let us know what that is?

Can you try disabling IPv6 from the WAN and LAN settings and see if you can then connect the Xbox?

Hey I just did a factory reset since that is the only thing right now that works out for me and the log cleared out. I am gonna check the R2 later and post it here.

I'll also try to disable IPv6 and see if that helps.

Thank you.

Hey I am from Germany and my isp provider is 1&1 and I can't use the R2 directly since it's not my modem/router I connect it to.

Another thing that i noticed is that the R2 shows up in the FritzBox but nothing that is connected to the R2.

Normally I can see all the devices that are in the network even with another router between the FritzBox and a device, but now it only shows the NetDuma under network in the FritzBox. No Xbox or computer even if they are connected to the R2 with the R2 being connected to the FritzBox.

I also can't connect to the R2 when I am connected to the FritzBox. Not through dumaos/ nor with the IP that I can see in the FritzBox.

Thanks for the fast reply though. I will try to gather some log information and post them here later when the R2 starts to act up again.

Ah that I see, it's a pity you can't use Netduma R2 directly. From what I can remember the FritzBox is put into bridge mode and acts only as modem when you connect another router to it. I think lan port 1 turns into the WAN port on the FritzBox. Here's a link to a tutorial that may help the connection problems, generally the FritzBox is easy to work with, it's a decent router. Tutorial: https://www.edpnet.be/en/support/installation-and-usage/internet/manage-fritz!box/how-do-i-configure-my-fritzbox-in-bridge-mode.html
