Ninja_Theory
Hi, new to the forum. Placed my R2 order today. I currently run a Xiaomi AX3000 mesh network with 4 nodes. I have a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router which I would no longer need. The AX3000 primary node is connected via Ethernet to a LAN port from the R7000, and the other 3 AX3000 nodes are all connected via Ethernet (so the backhaul is all cabled). My question: Is it advised for the R2 to be my main router, and then the AX3000 primary node connected via Ethernet to a R2 LAN port? Or is it advised to keep the R7000 as primary router, and place the R2 down the chain connected via Ethernet to an AX3000 node, and then into my PS5? Apologies if this answer should be obvious. I would think the R2 should be the primary router and manage DHCP?
Ninja_Theory
Also what power rating is the R2? I can't seem to find it. Is it 12v1A?
Netduma Liam
Welcome to the forum! Thanks for picking up an R2. In order for QoS to work at it's absolute best, I'd suggest having the R2 at the top of the network and have the mesh system connect to one of it's LAN ports. You then know for sure that it's got full control over the network. And yes, 12V, 1A is correct. Ninja_Theory
