guv77
the network light on the R2 will go off intermittently every other day or so. For example, so far today and all day Wednesday and Thursday had no issues what so ever. But just after 19:14pm the light went off and all devices lost connection. But this time i was able to take a copy of the log information around that time. But when i logged into DumaOs, the WAN IP was still visible and connected. A reboot of the R2 usually gets it back. Am i ok to paste the info in here? My Virgin media Hub 4 didn't go down, has that is always lit up correctly. Last few days with VM will migrate over to Openreach on Monday. Edit: just happened again, (20:01pm)with what looks like same errors...something about 'mtk_soc_eth 1e100000.ethernet' Edit again: happened again same errors mtk_soc_eth 1e100000.ethernet eth0: MAC6: control=0x5e30b status=0xb mtk_soc_eth 1e100000.ethernet eth0: MAC5: control=0x5e30b status=0xb mtk_soc_eth 1e100000.ethernet eth0: port 4 link down mtk_soc_eth 1e100000.ethernet eth0: MAC4: control=0x56330 status=0x0 mtk_soc_eth 1e100000.ethernet eth0: MAC3: control=0x56330 status=0x0 mtk_soc_eth 1e100000.ethernet eth0: MAC2: control=0x56330 status=0x0 mtk_soc_eth 1e100000.ethernet eth0: MAC1: control=0x56330 status=0xb mtk_soc_eth 1e100000.ethernet eth0: MAC0: control=0x56330 status=0xb mtk_soc_eth 1e100000.ethernet eth0: gsw irq, link status reg=0x20080010 ash (21543): drop_caches: 3 Fri Aug 19 20:00:00 2022 cron.err crond[1397]: USER root pid 21543 cmd echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches Fri Aug 19 19:58:12 2022 daemon.err cli.lua[3154]: Recognised 265 protocol=XCLOUD node=3993, time=0.000s
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 21, 2022 Administrators Share Posted August 21, 2022 Interesting, it may be the IP for the router is renewing on the VM hub, when your migration is done set a static/reserved IP on the new modem/router if applicable and see if that prevents it happening again
guv77
@Netduma Fraser hi mate. so I have my Sky FTTP installed, currently I have the sky broadband box plugged into the ONT box, and my R2 plug into port 1 of sky box. I have network on my desktop PC connected via LAN, and I have a WAN IP displayed in DUmaOS. I am going to log into the sky box and disabled all WiFi, would that be enough or do I need to add anything else elsewhere? think it's all setup now, best I could. disabled wifi on sky broadband router/box/ current benchmark: ping has definitely lowered moving from VM to FTTP. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 22, 2022 Administrators Share Posted August 22, 2022 Disabling the WiFi is a great step so all devices can be controlled by the R2, if you're not having issues then you don't need to do the above but if it happens again please do so. I would recommend you copy the WAN IP from the R2 System Information page and put that in the DMZ on the Sky Hub and that will ensure you get an Open NAT. That's great to hear! guv77
guv77
I will leave it has it is now for the next couple of days and see if the issue happens again, then I’ll take your advice. also while I was re-setting the QOS using auto-setup it selects 100% for both download and upload, saying it’s the best setting. Is this fine? with my VM it was 55% for dl and 85 for ul.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 22, 2022 Administrators Share Posted August 22, 2022 We're still improving upon that feature so it might be that your connection is a lot better now hence the results or it may be best to set values manually based on what you find performs the best
